Which it is. Remember all the matching tests they needed to do on the GN Drives just to find the pair that barely managed to power the Twin-Drive system? Given that the pair most compatible with each other - the 0 Gundam Drive and Exia Drive - are now gone, pairing the other GN Drives with their proven incompatibilities to each other would truly be too much of a risk.
Besides, the single drive is what gives the 007SG it's own personality: A once powerful MS that can now only intimidate through it's past reputation and shiny new weapons rather than its actual combat abilities due to it losing the one system that gave it it's power.

Well, since its getting a bit off topic,I've posted my technical reply on the Gundam 00 weapons& tech thread.
Personally, one thing I really dislike about the 00 Repair as I call it is that the Drive components cones are the same.It would put good symbolism if the 2nd cone looked different to illustrate the fact that it doesn't have a 2nd GN-Drive. [Than again,it is just an output module anyways] and as you'd say if they've done that it would have added more personality to the fact that this is an inferior 00 Repair without Twin Drive.
When the chapter first came out,I'd thought it was due to laziness on part of the designer and the chapter director but considering they were planning to release a full kit of it that we CAN imagine to be a full fledged 00 due to it looking the same on the basic level,I'd say it was a good move indeed,so I can understand why they almost didn't change anything from 007S aesthetically save the adding of the GN Sword II Blaster, because they were planning to make a kit of it.
So,anybody remember the release date for 007G?I know its this month but I've forgotten the exact date,
