Watched the EX ep today, which is full of Kuroyukihime fanservice, Chiyu 's evil neko laugh and Takumu being the butt monkey.

Takumu: .... pl....please.....Chi-chan...., I 'm out of Bullet,...just...let..me.. rest for a bit.

It got to say that Taku always get the short end of the stick.:heh: Karma seems to have it in for him. Chiyu is really trigger happy.

It may be some thing like an interstellar war, they have robot avatar after all. But Cosmo Corrupt sound ominous, really.

Edit: @Hayate So wait, AA was mentioned in the Light Novels already? Won't that make it somewhat confusing for anime only watchers?

Even if you're not a LN reader (most of AW hasn't been translated into english anyway). If you remember from the first episode, Burst Link install file was named BB2039 and now Accel Assault being AA2038 and from what happened in the OVA, as an anime viewer you'd guess it might be the predecessor to Burst Link.

Anyways after they transformed into their "duel avatars" I couldn't stop laughing, everything after that was so hilarious.

Damn right it is.

Since Taku's Cyan Pile is basically a Lancer, and a lancer has the worst luck indeed. So yeah, being a lancer is always suffering. :heh:

And don't forget that he's a knight too.

Lancer: a lance-wielding knight in a blue armor.

This OVA can be summarized to:
"In Halloween, when pigs fly, knights become useless on their own, their love interest becomes a slave driver, and the black king dances in the sky."

To be honest, I wanted to make a joke about pile driver and slave driver, but couldn't think of anything :heh::heh:

Anyway, pretty nice OVA. And with it being called EX1, that means a next one will be out, probably with the second Accel World game :D

You know, Accel Assualt might well serve as a warning to KYH of what could likely await her even if she became Level 10. Possibly, especially.

Diarmuid wore green armor.

Also, don't forget the ending where they confirm that Kuroyukihime's name begins with a "Sa". We already kind of knew this from the nickname Fuuko called her, but some thought it might've just been a play on kanji. This confirms her name really does start with a "Sa".

Probably referring to FSN lancer, Cú Chulainn.

Obviously, but to classify all Lancers according to one, down to the color they wear, when both Lancers are known for their suffering...

not a bad OVA episode.... it's awesome for me...

so in AA, male players will become a weapon which be used by female players??? :heh:

darn! Haruyuki!! why do you suddenly stop when you almost mention KRYKH's real name...

I really like Niko's expression in this episode... Megumi is also finally had a 'nice' conversation with Haru while Kuroyukihime also had a short conversation with Chiyu...
10/10 for character development.... finally all of them can talk something beside Brain Burst's things....

Hmm, this episode was entertainining, but it also tickled my curisority. We see on the AA cubic structure had text A.A 2038 on it so maybe I'm assuming it's a date of some kind. Is AA before AW? Was AA was a prototype for AW? Gah, I wanna know more nao!

Besides all the mystery and comedy it provide some nice fan service shots of our dark haired beauty.

I like Dushka's avatar(humanoid & AA versions). :heh:

If she was in Burst, she'd kick lots of ass.

This episode was extremely fun and creative at a visual level, but I can't say I'm a fan of how this episode handled Haru. :heh:

While it's true that Taku is made to suffer a lot in this show, at least some of it is genuinely funny (sorry, but the scenes of Chiyu using him as a weapon were pretty funny to me :heh: ).

But with Haru, some of his dialogue and interactions with KYH were just downright cringe-worthy here. It honestly made me feel uncomfortable watching them. Especially since this feels like another character regression to me...

The first time (when Noumi started bullying him), I could understand Haru taking a step or two back from previous character development. Sometimes in life you relapse into your old weaknesses and failings, particularly if some catalyst causes this to occur.

But I don't see any real catalyst for Haru's regression here, so I found it pretty disappointing for him to act so insanely clumsy in his interactions with KYH and handling of even slight female affection. Hopefully this is just an OVA sort of thing for his character...


Those complaints being made, I absolutely loved the character designs for KYH and Chiyu when they were fighting this new antagonist (and she herself was kickass both as "Trick or Trigger!" and as that giant bug-like enemy). The super hero comic book fan in me just adored it, as KYH and Chiyu both looked like characters straight out of the Justice League in this episode.


Overall, I give this episode 8/10, as the visual creativity and cool action scenes mostly made up for the occasionally cringe-worthy dialogue and Haru moments.
