Thats a really good idea, but i already hung my hi nu and its funnels from strings on the ceiling with a pretty good effect.

depends on wha you prefer, RD's make really good figures to play with owning a few myself, though i prefer HG 1/144 because i enjoy making the actual kit and u can play with them but joints might get loose.

!/144 HG has more variety

That is one nice looking Strike Freedom, do you have anymore kits if so you should share. And yeah like stated a few post before best to put a sig or something on paper in the background so we know its yours, theres been some issues in the past. Again thats one nice looking kit, I think the overall quality and look is far superior to the normal freedom MG.

How do you make those gold joints become really "bling bling"? AFAIK the original gold joints are more to yellow instead...

One more noobie Q: How do I paint those clear transparent parts into transparent blue, transparent red..

I myself prefer Damashii, after having the 00 and the Ahead, I'm utterly impressed. I also like them for the action figure aspect. Made for play. I also have NO patience for building models.

MSIA has spoiled me rotten.

Some people bling out their cars<--paint on real gold (24K)
Some bling out their SFreedom.
I never knew there was a self applied gold spray set though.

I prefer HG 1/144 because of my pocket limitations... but they're still good nonetheless :)

thats a pretty badass strike freedom, just wondering though, did you paint the whole kit or just the gold parts?

also does anyone know of any differences from the strike freedom MG and the strike freedom full burst mode apart from the detachable super dragoon system?

Karidzka 2009-05-02 10:04

finnally :( just need to do lining and decal on IWSP pack and shield and it's done :D

Thanks,Only the gold parts are painted, The difference between the two are Gold plating on the FBM, Blue clear stand with dragoon holders, different decals and the extra poster.

The normal Sf is just the kit with 1 eight point stand.

What kind of gold paint you use for your SF?

As far as I know:
two stands, normal and the Legend's base
pale gold plated joints
and the aforementioned dragoon display rod thingymagigy

what i do for gold joints is just use a gold spray paint it looks a lot nicer then a lot of them standared non painted parts.

as for the clear parts they sell clear paint, i use a lot of clear tamyia paint for my gunpla it adds a whole lot to the model by doing so.

RJ London Gold 18Kt. Effect, it's an industrial spray paint meant for ornaments,

I sprayed in thin coats letting it dry before a second coat

i assume you also did an overcoat of matt spray (looking from the pictures). i was thinking of using the Tamiya gold spray, would anyone recommend this?

damn i want a SF full burst, but its so damn expensive, i live in australia and my local hobby shop stocks it for $170 (i can buy two MGs and maybe a 1/144 HG with that ><)

i think that explains alot. depending on what effect you want. i live in sydney and the only ones of these paints which are avaiable to us locally are - Alclad II Lacquer Chrome., Mr Color (top row middle), Mr Color (middle row, middle) and the Tamiya Spray. From this guide i found out that Tamiya doesnt give a metal finish, its jsut gives the color.

I would recommend using Alclad Lacquer Chrome and then spraying Tamiya Clear Yellow ontop to create the gold.
