MG Eypon.... what have they done to u!?! The head is atrocious! Either it was painted bad, or its a totally different head from the unpainted version. Also the legs looks a bit 'thick' compared to other Gundams, the hips looks wider, shoulders are lacking space between the torso, and looks like its lost it's neck... very disproportional.... I would definitely be a shame if this is the final result. The suit has so much potential.

I don't see anything wrong with it other than the head, and the lack of neck is due to the angle.

kakakka 2011-04-01 07:02

I thought the head is fine. And Epyon always looks like it has no neck when looking at the model pics.

The white mouthpiece looks a bit too wide to me.

kakakka 2011-04-01 07:11

Never changed :heh: The older models even have wide eyes.

It's not the eyes that bother me. :heh:

Though I'm surprised we haven't seen the beam sword yet...

kakakka 2011-04-01 07:23

Yeah, the sword. I thought they already revealed it, but it seem that they didn't. The preview didn't even have the holder on the sides.

CsrFSeiei 2011-04-01 10:14

MG 00 Raiser looks sweeet!!

Araxiel 2011-04-01 18:30

Out of curiosity, has anyone else cobbled the Full Saber onto anything interesting?

GN0010 Nosferatu 2011-04-01 18:35

Two things that don't go well together.

Good sir, you wound me. We duel on the morrow.:p

GN0010 Nosferatu 2011-04-01 19:03

Is that something you made? If so, great work. It's more than I can do with a model. It's just not a weapon that looks good on the Unicorn. :p

Araxiel 2011-04-01 19:05

It's one of mine, yes.
And thus, we agree to disagree. To be fair, it's not helped by the fact that the green is damn near impossible to match, and the Unicorn's forearms interfere with the Saber a lot >_>

New pics upoaded from GG

Or at least I THINK they're new

I am officially worried: Still no sign of Epyon's beam saber.

~Destiny~ 2011-04-02 22:06

It should be fine. Im assuming they'll go onto the side skirt armor, where those holes are

Worry not: The promotional poster for the MG Epyon still lists "Beam Saber x 1" as one of its weapons, and these posters have never missed out on features before, nor have they been misleading. Guess they're saving up on the literal big reveal for the Epyon's beam sword :heh:

The greens may not match but they're good enough to look like it may be as a result some conscious wise design choice. Its really good work IMO.

HLJ's particular descriptions of any model aren't really the most accurate of any site I've seen.

And just in case anyone missed the english version of the promotional poster I was talking about:

I'm still surprised we haven't seen the beam sword yet...

Bandai has really stepped it up with their MG kits lately, haven't they? :D

LoweGear 2011-04-05 11:52

There's still two more months till the MG Epyon gets released. LOTS of time for the model mags and promotionals to show off the Beam Sword once they get around to it.

I'm wondering if maybe they actually changed the design mid-production for some reason?

LoweGear 2011-04-05 13:17

I actually think they did change it at least once: look at the legs of the initial linearts and the actual model.

The actual model has two knee blades just like the original Okawara version, while the initial lineart only has one, and the lineart lacks the tooth line on the foot that suggest the presence of the opening mouth.

Oh kind people at Bandai, if you actually make a real HG GN-X IV you could save these people the trouble of modding them so much.............:(

My favourite aspect of the ELS GN-X IV has been the Drive Cone, which always reminded me of the GN-X III's lance and in this case it was literally made from it.

I wish they colored the beam saber purple though.

Ya know for a second there, it looked like the ELS GN-XIV has a slightly elongated head.

What exactly do you mean by painted?

It looks very nice, easily my favorite MG pic to date.

Painted, as in painted model. These painted images are the ones Bandai releases when showing off the model in its "complete" state. This is in contrast to the unpainted previews shown in hobby magazines, which show the model as they look OOB (out-of-box) with no after work.

~Destiny~ 2011-04-07 02:52

Is that a giant seam line above the GN SwordIII handle I see? :heh:

So aside from better textures after painting, is there anything actually missing from this out of the box that we know of at the moment?

LoweGear 2011-04-07 20:58

For the MG 00 Raiser, the only thing we haven't seen from it are its decals and markings. Otherwise we've seen all there is to it of the MG 00 Raiser's features.

I meant from a color perspective, is it known to be missing any colors here and there? Out of the box that is.

Of course, I'm mostly a HG guy so I'm used to filling up the gaps but I thought most MGs had it complete already (just talking about the completeness of the out of box colors, of course it can always be further improved or re-colored by yourself). I'd rather not do it these days since I'm much busier now that I study abroad.

LoweGear 2011-04-08 01:57

Asides from the optional panel lines, don't see anything that would need major coloring for the MG 00-Raiser. Most MG's nowadays are made to be color accurate out of the box anyhow.

Porportion of SD models to come ? OTOH, this has to be the thinnest interpretation of the Sazabi ever.

I actually did a double take because its outline looked like the Sinanju. :heh:
