Tokyo Ravens [Light Novel]
happened to come across thi manga and found it to be really interesting
An Onmyodo School Fantasy of a Failing Private Onmyo Academy Student!! Tsuchimikado Harutora was born into a prestigious Onmyoji family, but he can't see "spirit energy". Therefore, he's been enjoying a peaceful daily life with his friends at an Onmyo branch school. One day, his childhood friend Tsuchimikado Natsume, heir to the head family, suddenly appears. Will this cause his destiny spring into motion!? there are 2 volumes out with only 2 capters scanlated |
The main character really annoys me. He is ridiculously dense about the girls.

many manga readers don't want to be spoiled by the novels though, and relentlessflame posted something sticky regarding this separation thing.

As far as manga adaptation is concerned, the plot advancement is pretty fast. They already cover the whole vol 1 of the novel in vol 1 of the manga I think. Up to vol 2, they already cover almost half of vol 2 of the novel, which is unusual since manga adaptation from novel tend to be longer volume-wise(and understandably too, considering they have to illustrate every scene in the novel).
|
it actually depends. even if it's longer, it's not by that much normally. for denyuuden, it's almost 1 is to 1. for Itsuten it's 1 volume +1 chapter of manga to 1 volume of LN (up till now). among others.
|
Hooo... Then I guess I haven't read that much LN-manga adaptation after all. The one I know(Spice and Wolf, Index, Haruhi, although I usually only check around 2-3 volumes before dropping them) covered less in a single volume compared to their novel counterpart, usually around 2 volume of manga per 1 volume of novel.

So far it's ok, nothing stands out atm.
I'm just wondering if the best friend will be like the best friend from Kami to Sengoku Seitokai, some big shot dude hiding himself. Oddly I can love or hate that thing, depending on how it's handled. Altho I get the feeling I'm gonna like Natsume alot:D |
Finished reading it up to date, and was surprised that the first volume is pretty different than the other ones.
|
That was surprising.
Spoiler for spoiler:

Yeah, and
Spoiler for Following chapters/volumes:

I wouldn't assume just yet that Harutora will not become a Onmyouji. Also unless I'm incorrect and someone can correct me if I am. All that would entail would be a bond between the two if he does become Natsume's Shikigami. He won't turn into paper since those type are artificially made and well he's not artificial of course...
