The main character really annoys me. He is ridiculously dense about the girls.

Well that's nothing new in a manga/ anime/ LN lol.

Concerning yakou's reincarnation:

Spoiler for reincarnation:

Not likely gonna stop anyone and quite frankly it seems pointless to have multiple threads for a single topic. And honestly i intended for it to be an overall thread because i just want as much information as possible.

larethian 2011-06-02 01:02

many manga readers don't want to be spoiled by the novels though, and relentlessflame posted something sticky regarding this separation thing.

kuroishinigami 2011-06-02 02:31

As far as manga adaptation is concerned, the plot advancement is pretty fast. They already cover the whole vol 1 of the novel in vol 1 of the manga I think. Up to vol 2, they already cover almost half of vol 2 of the novel, which is unusual since manga adaptation from novel tend to be longer volume-wise(and understandably too, considering they have to illustrate every scene in the novel).

larethian 2011-06-02 04:10

it actually depends. even if it's longer, it's not by that much normally. for denyuuden, it's almost 1 is to 1. for Itsuten it's 1 volume +1 chapter of manga to 1 volume of LN (up till now). among others.

kuroishinigami 2011-06-02 05:18

Hooo... Then I guess I haven't read that much LN-manga adaptation after all. The one I know(Spice and Wolf, Index, Haruhi, although I usually only check around 2-3 volumes before dropping them) covered less in a single volume compared to their novel counterpart, usually around 2 volume of manga per 1 volume of novel.

because Spice and Wolf is a dialogue and narration centered story? while descriptions of actions and scenery can be drawn out. especially actions.

So far it's ok, nothing stands out atm.

I'm just wondering if the best friend will be like the best friend from Kami to Sengoku Seitokai, some big shot dude hiding himself.
Oddly I can love or hate that thing, depending on how it's handled.

Altho I get the feeling I'm gonna like Natsume alot:D

Athena 2011-11-13 12:09

Finished reading it up to date, and was surprised that the first volume is pretty different than the other ones.

SoFarGone 2011-12-30 20:16

That was surprising.
Spoiler for spoiler:

Didn't Hokuto turn to paper? And from what I gather, Shikigami's are tools of their users. Just not something I'm into. I'd rather see the guy become an Onmyou than a Shikigami.

Johnny 2011-12-31 05:22

I wouldn't assume just yet that Harutora will not become a Onmyouji. Also unless I'm incorrect and someone can correct me if I am. All that would entail would be a bond between the two if he does become Natsume's Shikigami. He won't turn into paper since those type are artificially made and well he's not artificial of course...
