just wondering.......

I think I confused you based on the way I phrased what I said. I bought the 1/60 Striker Weapons System kit and built the Aile Strike. Then a few months later, I got my hands on 2 of the plain 1/60 Strike with rifle and shield and no backpacks, and since the original plain one is the exact same one the Striker Weapons System set comes with, so with those 2, I attached the Sword and Launcher Strikers.

So I didn't mean that I had 2 of the plain ones BEFORE they released the SWS set, just that I later picked up two of the plain ones that had been released before the SWS was.

I just got a W-Gundam Zero Custom "SPECIAL OPERATION TYPE" 1/100 HG not long ago as a gift. I originally wanted a MG WingZero but the person who gave it to me probably did a mistake :heh: .

The W-Zero is almost the same as a regular 1/100 Wzero Custom. There is a difference though. Instead of having white wings and parts, my W-Zero has SILVER wings and all the white has also been replaced by silver. There is not a trace of white anywhere. Also, I think the Gundam has a bit more detail because my cousin used to own a W-Zero 1/100 Custom and it looked kind of dull :D (it's broken now, he replaced it with 1/144 HG Destiny, Freedom, Strike Freedom, and Justice ;)).

Now I have a question concerning the rarity of this "Special" Gundam Wing. I have been unable to find it in ANY online Gundam shop so far and searched Google to no avail. I could only find a handful of BOX ART images. The Gundam is real, as it has the "BANDAI" logo and the parts inside are of high quality. There is also the standard instruction manual with the paint jobs and biography. Is this Gundam rare or am I just not looking hard enough? It cost the gifter about $27 CDN (bought from HK and converted to CDN). Is it "rare" and did I get ripped off?

I'm currently working on it right now. So far, I got the arms, legs, and weapons ready. I'll put pictures up once I'm finished. Thanks!

Looks like were in the same boat because I have the same 1/100 Wing Zero Custom Special Operation Type. Zero Custom looks better with silver then white in my opinion.

dat is a rare and limited edition release of the wing zero custom from bandai.
its a "extra finish" version like the MG Freedom Gundam they relesed recently. U are very lucky to get on of those.... its extremely hard to find. im not sure but i think they did it too for the MG wing zero probably hard to find too....

Wow! Really? I didn't know that. I bought it when I was visiting my cousin, who lives in Toronto, Canada, like five years ago. I don't quite remember how much I paid for it, but I went to this place that sold everything that was model kits and they had alot of Gundam Model kits in particular. It was in this Chinese Mall(yes, I'm chinese) where it was filled with little shops.

theOtherGuy 2006-08-10 00:22

I'm suprised Dalong doesn't have it.

Yeah I don't see it either and its got some many on that site. I was wondering how much bigger is a 1/60 compared to a 1/100 anyways?

theOtherGuy 2006-08-10 01:02

Ooo, he has some comparisons of it...

http://old.rfdh.com/dal67/seed/s60_1/s60_1_30.jpg

Yeah, it's the Strike, but the sizes are just ratios. So, just bump up your 1/100 Wing Zero Custom like 3/4's more.

Actually scratch that. This is a better comparison. (Man Dalong needs to spray his kits with a coat of Top Coat)

AnimePaul 2006-08-10 01:47

Wow, its like twice the size. I bet its really expensive too. Maybe twice the price too.

:heh: (gasps) I'm....sorry, that question just sounded so out there. Seriously, Gundam model kits are made in Japan. They're not cheap, except for the small FG or first grade kits, which have little to no posability at all. If you really want to get into Gundam kits you must be a Gundam fan, a modeler of at least moderate skill (i.e. knows how to paint and build), and willing to make sacrifices for your hobby.

Repeat after me: There is NO Anime/Manga-related hobby that is cheap.:p

QFT.

Depending on where you live, shipping can be quite expensive. Here in Australia, MG kits go from about $60-$180 or so, depending on the size - Ex-S and Sazabi being the main culprits. PGs here range from about $300-$400 or so.

Not to mention other goods like statuettes and stuff, but I digress.

Does anyone have a pic of a 1/100 or 1/60 of a either Strike Freedom or Freedom with a custom black and gold paint job?

I just love that painting. It's just so...boner-giving :heh:.

@AnimePaul: Man...I know that exact place where you're talking about. I go there everytime I want to check out the models. Hell, I even bought three already!

@nightbringer360: The shop that I go to sell the PG models between $180-220. I never saw any MG models but the shop has plenty of HG 1/100 and 1/144.
