Marvel's Iron Fist [Netflix]

Color me excited.

I'm liking this. Netflix is doing a great job setting up the Defenders. With this and Samurai Jack, March is looking to be quite fun.

Was worried that they were gonna try to cut corners and give it the same vibes as the other Netflix series, but looks like I was wrong. This looks great.

RIP Gotham. Marvel just did a better job on the "saving your parents' company from corruption" plotline in one trailer than Gotham has in three seasons.

I love how the doc is kept as a constant character in the Netflix MCU. Kind of like Coulson in MCU Phase 1. I guess we know who the Defenders are going to have for their medical treatment. :D

And while she's treating them, they're going to exchange stories about how they met her and she'll be left wondering what her life has become:heh:.

I hope this series manages to avoid the only consistent flaw I've felt all the other netflix MCU series have had. They all ended up dragging to various degrees before the series finale. So it'd be nice if Iron Fist somehow managed to remain exciting throughout every episode.

To be fair, only Matt met in her a weird way. So far. I assume Danny will meet her in a normal way as well.

Of course, this is using the assumption that meeting someone at a hospital while working there is normal, regardless of why they were there for treatment. :heh:

Looks like another Daredevil/Luke Cage type of series to me. Both of which I was disappointed in. Probably because I'm more of a flashy superhero fan and not a comic book fanatic. Both just had too much....talking and not of explosive pow-pows. Then again, that's just me. I'll check out the first episode that's for sure.

Claire's basically the Night Nurse. I can't wait for this and Defenders.

FlareKnight 2017-02-09 01:19

We'll see how this turns out.

I've been a bit mixed on the Netflix MCU stuff. Daredevil was pretty good. But thought Luke Cage was a bit boring.

Liked the trailer, so will just wait for the show to come out.

Pretty bad that people are calling this white washing. XD

Twi 2017-03-14 07:46

To me that's like them whining about Luke Cage being African-American or Jessica Jones being a Caucasian Woman. I'd understand if it was something like with Doctor Strange and the Ancient One or Homecoming, where the fat and nerdy friend was Ganke to Miles and they just replaced with him someone else to fit the new Peter Parker.

But this is a comic adaption and he was white in the comics.

I just don't get it. People don't realize how dumb they are being on that front. White people can be master martial artists...But to be fair I suppose those people aren't actually looking up the character. Just see a white guy as a lead in this show and think the creators are whitewashing. Not thinking about the fact that it's pretty racially insensitive to presume that a master martial artist character has to be Asian...

Yet nothing... NOTHING about the White Washing that happened in Dr Strange.

Nothing and something mean the same things now?
