I know everyone is upset about Dante's "phase," but hey, look what else Capcom is releasing:

I seriously hope one of the boss battles will actually be against a gigantic finger. :)

Looks brutal and badass so far, but I can't get too excited until I see more gameplay. I just hope it won't be too heavy on the QTE's as the trailer sorta implies.

Strange that you never mentioned how Kratos or even your own dear Dante and Gene, might add up to Ashura here.

o.o... Is this guy immortal or something? He can take so much pain, and even take on a gigantic finger... The game looks good as well, feels like God of War 3 in a sense.

Asuras were sinful power-seeking deities, so this interpretation seems pretty accurate to me.

The backstory is probably built around Hinduism, so that horde of enemies he's facing is probably an army of Deva, as Asura oppose them.

Anyway, if it plays anything like God of War I don't see why I shouldn't give it a try. I really liked that trilogy.

Think about it;

This JUST the trailer. He took on a giant space finger.
The whole UNIVERSE could literally be at risk in the full game.

Anyone else think of hero during that lance scene?

Are you kiddin? he'd fuck up Dante Kratos and Gene too. I only said Bayo because she has more OP abilities than those 3... Unless you let Gene have the 2nd God Hand but even then he's not super OP.

Bayo would win if she could stay out of range, because lets face it.. if this gets a hold of her, its over. but this guy is fuckin fast.. apparently so even her time slowing skills would be slightly useless agenst him. He also seems to be able to take more punishment than Kratos and Dante combined :heh: not to mention he takes on a TTGL sized statue thing like BAyo did.

yea.. or that scene from 300 and about 100 other diffrent movies :heh: Diffrence is he just takes it and shrugs it off instead of dodging them.

This is Capcom God of War but with Asian Mythology i guess .

:heh: Its funny that it was placed there. With the looks of the gameplay in the trailer, it is very similar to God of War. But just with even more action, and impaling, and etc :p

Kind of surprise that cyberconnect2 are doing something like this rather their usual anime style games.

Basically it summaries how to make a (almost) perfect game. Almost perfect, because it uses the UE3 engine, might have to go with the 360 version with this game. In short:
Low freedom, (linear, as oppose to sandboxy style ?), check
Limited power up system, check
Limited items supply (or items in general ?), check
No multiplayer, check
This game is going to be awesome and hopefully challenges gamers skills.

This is how much rage now that is in the DmC thread is.
Seems now I think seeing this they wanted DmC to fail for this one to sell.

Not too sure, apparently like DmC this title will be using UE3, so no 60fps, crappy ps3 version aso. But since CC2 are dealing with, it this is going to be at least a sleeper hit.

Asura basically represent an eternal 'spoiling for a fight' kind of attitude. Ultimate in burning spirit.

Mostly it's Japanese folklore and the demon 'Oni' or Ogres. Like the intro he's been stabbed with spears, there was a story of a man that didn't budge even when stabbed many times, just to save a little kid under the metal bell he's been carrying.
