This didn't turn out that badly. LED wise, I am waiting on the Bandai green LEDs. It's supposedly coming with the Evo Hi-nu bootleg that I ordered through...

btw, what should I do with the bazooka and rifle color wise?

Carry over the colours. The leds aren't that great. PM with your location. I have 2, maybe I can give you them. They are the ones for the 1/100 NG 00 Gundam. (green of course) They are the same as any of the led units though.

@Suiton They don't drop, because they make profit like crazy. Think about it, 500,000 units sold @50USD. That's a decent chunk of change.

One of the things that I've been struck by with this kit is just how good Bandai's techniques are. Revell's recent Bismarck in 1:350 or the Dragon kits do not boast the kind of fit that I am getting out of the box with this thing.

It'll take 3D printers to beat Bandai at this rate. Frankly, they can justify their prices on the MG stuff. I had to pay 100 dollar-ish for those hulking battleship model kits...

They use 3d printers to prototype lol!

I'd love to have 3d printer to make parts for gundams. You could make crazy aftermarket gear for your suits. 1-3,000USD for a printer is still too much though.

I was thinking that too. You can save a huge amount of time by having polystyrene parts being printed such printers. Just a general outline would do since detailing is not an issue. You'd get much stronger parts out of it too.

Surprised that Bandai just doesn't drop some Grade then. I mean aren't MGs the most popular from modelers and fans in Japan and elsewhere around the world? Why not drop like the HG line and instead keep SD, MG, and PG?

Do more SDs, eventually do MG's, and then occasionally do PGs?

You do realize that they are making so many new HG models for a reason, right?
I really don't think you should question the business model of a toy company that has been in business for ages.

I also just finished my RG GP01.

Well, what can I say... I still don't like Real Grades :P
It looks great but it's still pretty flimsy. Syd from HLJ says this is his favorite kit ever. I really don't see why.

Doubtful. He isn't advertising for HLJ on his own website. I think if he was he would rate the more expensive models a lot higher :P

I def praise Bandai's work with their models but the stuff that requires glue is abit different imo.
They require alot more patience and effort to make "right".
Bandai is more "out of the box" ready which means being much better quality.

But then I find the Japanese stuff to be really well made regardless, however I do think injection kits that require glue should be as they are and require the effort needed to make them great.
If they were at the same level as the gunpla then they would be pretty boring to make really :)

Well if he made it obvious that he was trying to advertise, then:

a. he would get fired or not paid as much..or at least not host HLJ TV anymore
b. HLJ would look bad

:p

It's all about the professional sales tactics.

Well you could always paint it into the Evolve color scheme of the authentic MG Nu Gundam Ver. Ka.

Panzerfan wants to mod his Nu Ka so that it has Hi-Nu's backpack. You can't do that with just painting it.

Providenceangle 2013-08-08 18:00

Maybe he just likes the kit? I know I will. Regardless of it's flaws. If he wanted to sell more kits, he put a discount in there. Then you will sell more.

They did cut some lines, namely 1/100 NG and 1/60 NG leaving SD, HG, MG, and PG, which is actually quite the perfect balance which gives something to everyone.

SD's for the kids and SD fans (come on, those things are cute), HGs for the more budgeted/casual/younger collectors/fans (and providing huge selections which surpasses all of the other lines as well as being cheaper to produce), MGs for the more serious modelers and fans, and PG rounding it all up at the very peak for the most hardcore/final kit (and the ultimate model to display in your room)

Cutting HGs would be one of the worst mistakes they could ever make, PERIOD

OR

Pure nostalgia/fan factor

I grew up with Wing, which started me off, followed shortly by 0083, which to this day is still in my top 3 favorite Gundam animations ever

0083 FTW

Very nice kits, only one which needs some work is the Divider, particularly on the beam harmonica (red on outsides and gray for gun nozzles inside)

Providenceangle 2013-08-09 09:45

Picture sucks but, Destiny is done. All I gotta do now is paint it and never touch it again.... lol

I saw the reviews from rrobbert, and I have to say that I think my preference still stands. I will have to wait and hope for MGs.

I feel like 70% certain that Bandai will do some in like 2014...like a gut feeling I had similar to MG 00 Qan[t] where people told me no way and that it'd take at least like 5 years or something..LOL

MoonLightShadows 2013-08-09 18:33

oohh, Here it is folks! the HGUC I have been waiting all year for. The HGUC Zogok Unicorn Colors. :D

The new announcement for the new Metal Build
http://tamashii.jp/tamashii/images/b...lbuild_new.jpg

Judging from the Director (Shigeta Satoshi), it's likely from SEED/Destiny. He was the one doing base design for MB Freedom and the animation director of SEED.

Soooo.......How many of you are gonna play the waiting game with me now for the MG 3.0 G3 Gundam???
