the gale strike variant is ugly but the gale buster looks alright.

This seed vs astray secret conflicts, underground organisations thing sounds a lot like a cheap celestial being rip off although I could be wrong.

I shall reserve judgement until I experience the finished product

Yes. And you need to use both of the LED provided in the kit for the GN Drive. Namely one for the back at where the cone is and the other for the chest in Exia.

The cone can be extended for Boost mode by the way.

GN0010 Nosferatu 2009-07-11 23:36

So, without the white cone, that's basically what a true GN Drive looks like?

Amber.Dawn 2009-07-11 23:43

The white cone is part of the GN Drive though, isn't it?
And yeah, Bandai isn't the type to provide batteries. /grumble, grumble, expensive battery/

Hmm, not very keen on that box art.

GN0010 Nosferatu 2009-07-11 23:45

I recall reading that the cone part of a GN Drive is a balancer of some sorts.

And uh, what exactly is going on in yee Avatar?

LightningZERO 2009-07-11 23:48

Wow. That's first.

Can't wait to have it

GrahamAker 2009-07-11 23:49

damn ignition mode was displayed in exia r2 !!!!!!!!!!!! it should be exia r2 ignition mode mg .

GN0010 Nosferatu 2009-07-11 23:50

Just because it was used on Exia R2, doesn't mean it can't be used on the regular Exia.

I don't recall hearing it's a special add on.

I think so, The tail of Cherudim and the Part between the legs.. Of Arios are GN drives, so that'd be my best guess.

Correct, and they do look like the uncovered part of the drive shown above.

MakubeX2 2009-07-12 00:04

Real GN Drive looks something like a glass bottle/test tude. Recall Tieria ejecting one in the last episode of OO season 1.

I hear you on the batteries. Spent about 16 dollars on a pair of batteries for my PG Mark II. Thankfully though, if you don't keep them on for long periods of time they last a very long time. The Mark II's had the same batteries since '06, and they still work very well.

Anyway, just built a 1/100 Over Flag and gave it a blue/black paint scheme. Figured I'd post a few pics. Sorry for the poor picture quality...

MakubeX2 2009-07-12 03:35

It's common knowledge that those button cells are very long lasting as one of them can basically power up a watch up to 5 years. Besides, I don't think anyone will be insane enough to run the LEDs 24-7.

And why hasn't anyone made comment that Bandai had decree that the standard MG Exia will have only one single LED for the Solar Furnance when it's obvious now that the GN Drive needs 2 of them to look decent ? Not that a small LED is expensive, but it's just a minor nitpick as in the case of those button cells here.

darkstrife 2009-07-12 06:57

the MG exia does look pretty awesome but i think i'll give it a miss, too broke after buying strike freedom FB, anyone know of any upcoming MG gundam releases?

You know, i like those colors on it. They work pretty well. Graham should've had those colors for his own Overflag, back when he was still you know, GRAHAM, and not Mr. Bushido...

Trauma, I suppose.

Critias 2009-07-12 15:01

not to suddenly change the subject, but i was gawking at PG Red Frame, and I noticed it has Armor Schneiders. Where exactly are those stored? (not gettin into the whole "why does it have them" thing)

Dalong commented that they are junk. So what do you think ?

Critias 2009-07-12 18:07

so they don't store anywhere? kinda strange, being a PG and all...

It's just excess accessories to make this particular PG look good. Notice that those knives are not listed amonst the weapons llineup in the manual.

Rising Dragon 2009-07-12 18:12

Considering who the pilot of the Red Frame is, its not hard to imagine him using weapons he just salvaged, so it works anyway.

They're just leftovers from the PG Strike. Kind of like the extra polycaps we get in HG's.

In regards to the batteries for the MG Exia's lighting; it takes a total of 4 LR41/ Energizer 392 size batteries. Two for each LED unit.... grumble... so much for it being the same batteries as the 1/100 00 kits...

The decals we used on the kit were waterslide. I only got a sheet of stickers; so I don't know if the actual kit comes with dry transfers or not...

MakubeX2 2009-07-13 16:35

It's obviously clear that that they are planning a R2 given that the runner "K" is missing from the sequencing in the kit.

So those who prefer the design of the R2, I suggest you wait out.

vektar 2009-07-13 16:46

or be hardcore and get all 3 versions of the kit!

Sworra 2009-07-13 18:00

I'd rather just wait for the MG 00 Raiser which is probably not coming for another year, but i can hold out till then.

GN0010 Nosferatu 2009-07-13 18:17

The MG Exia is exactly why I suck at model kits.

DarkWarrior 2009-07-13 18:29

R2 for me.. never liked the excessive amount of weapons on the Exia. But MG 00 is what I'm really looking forward to, even though it probably won't be released for awhile.

HAHAHA we were having a bitch of a time looking for the elusive "runner k"... Granted we didn't have instructions, so we couldn't do any verifications... and taking a quick look at the instructions that I did get after the kit got completed, no "K runner" on there either...

I'm probably getting both and combining them. Some parts I prefer the original, some the R2. Not to mention I can't wait that long.

So are we in agreement that something is definately up with this particular MG mould ?

BTW, new batch of stock that had arrived this morning :-
