Madoka Magica (TV) is Licensed by Aniplex of America
The License for Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica announced on ANN: Aniplex USA Adds Madoka Magica, Blue Exorcist on Home Video
Feel free to discuss the topic in this thread. And as usual, any discussion about where to download Madoka Magica fansubs are no longer allowed as of now. |
They should take my money once the legit copies come out. :heh:
One more thing: judging from some of the user comments made on ANN, they should give the releases an affordable price. |
I hope they don't release it in volumes.

I hope they don't charge more than $30 for a single. I am actually interested in buying this when it comes out, but I do have a budget that limits how much I can purchase on anime. |
I hope they dub this then I would mind getting singles

"Details will be announced at a later date". Absolutely useless this way. I hate when companies do that.

Now back on topic...YAAAAAAAY I AM SOOOOO GETTING MADOKA DVDS!!!! They better dub it! Oh! Even better! They better have Hynden Walch do Madoka and Kari Wahlgren do Kyube or some butts will be kicked!...or Bryce Papenbrook as Kamijou!:D |
Having Madoka be dubbed and on Blu-ray would be awesome. But I'm kinda worried that it's Aniplex.

If Madoka is dubbed, who do you think is the best to dub Madoka?
|
Hynden Walch!!!:D
Her voice as Yutaka from Lucky Star would fit Madoka perfectly! |
For the rest, which ones?
I was thinking: Michelle Ruff as Homura (no bakemonogatari dub) Kari Wahlgren as Kagami Kyubey Kate Higgins/one who dubbed Ritsu as Kyoko one who dubbed Mugi as Mami |
Of course, if it means that the individual discs come with overkill 4K ultra-HD quality with full 5.1 uncompressed audio and tons opf DVD Extras, then I would grudgingly approved of individual episodes.
I'd still be satisfied with a 480p or 720p DVD collection. |
Have until Monday left to give them suggestions (they are under Bandai and Aniplex in the exhibit hall at LACC):
I gave them the suggestion of making Madoka's notebook a box (complete with the contents). Limited Blu-Ray covers of #2 (Episodes 1-4: Mami is from Episode 1-3... at 4, she still remains important), #4 (Episodes 5-8: Sakura vs Kyoko) and #5 (Homura and Madoka: from Episode 10-12). |
Aniplex usually adds a bit of extras luckily, I'd rather be annoyed if the release would be just (like many nowadays, unfortunately) a glorified VHS version.

By the way, more cast suggestions. Wendee Lee: Madoka's mother Dave Mallow: Madoka's father Bryce Papenbrook: Kamijou |
Hm. Well, here's hoping for a box set, myself. A little more expensive, but it's an easier way of getting the series compared to waiting for individual volumes to be released.
|
I really can't imagine why they licensed it. It's not like the show has any mass appeal, and /a/ is not a productive demographic.
Either way, not a big fan of dubs, but Madoka's original cast was nothing special either, so we'll see. |
I hope they'll use a suspenseful thriller of a trailer with well-matched musical cues, like the fanmade trailer that got axed by Youtube.
