Jackals

Author: Kim, Byung Jin (Story & Art)
Synopsis:
Quote:

Cicero City, a city infested with immigrants where people of all races scramble to find work and shelter. Infested with destruction and slaughter, it's a chaotic society. Living on the outside of society, the Jackals are professional assassins with no allegiance, available to the highest bidder. This is their story.
A very interesting manga, the setting of Cicero City is based off of an actual 19th century town, with vicious armed gangs, corrupt officers and diverse population. The plot, however, is what sold me on this one. It's very well-made, and from the 4th volume onwards, the characters are developed enough to carry the story by themselves, and there's enough plot twists to keep the reader on edge.

So, anyone else reading this?

This is what I like to think of as my GAR manga... I'd have posted something already, but I'm only around 15~20ish chapters in. Anyways, it's a good refresher from all the mangas where the guys are wimps who can barely fight. I suspect there's also less popularity with this since there's only three females (that I've encountered so far), and one of them has been dead for a while

So while there is quite a bit of "man-service", it's pretty damn badass

I personally felt the ending was too rushed. It seemed like the author had bigger plans with such a big cast, but either was compelled by his publishers to finish it off or he lost interest and ended it prematurely.

Damn, that's a shame...could have easily kept going. Well, it was fun, while it lasted...
