Not that I think anyone thought an anime whose animation staff has dropped dead would do so, but yeah, no new content at all. Didn't really do a bath scene like Mushibugyo or add an interesting reason for the recap like Speed Grapher.
But Mikasa's expression in the preview where what-ever-his-name is stepping on Elen was kind of entertaining (and getting old).

The scene in 1st eps where Eren woke up and cried is replayed 2 times in this eps right after important climax scene. Is this just the writer messing with us or confirming the hint for possible time loop theory? :uhoh:

Okay, I watched it all.

Around 20:02 - 20:06.

Purple bricks are gone.

And around 20:57 - 20:59.

So less than 10 seconds of new animation

imo...
he'll be the one who makes or breaks this series...
will he have a grudge against Eren for the rest of the series...
and Mikasa kicks his butt.

There also a little added scenes where Ian was eaten....can see his head drop off

So we could get possibly the funniest music video ever?

So it's a recap episode this time.
Guess it was just a matter of time before they did a recap.
The middle of the season is as good place as any.
It good since it reminds us about everything that happened so far.
Since it's Attack on Titan, it was definitely not boring to watch.

I just basically watch few seconds next episode preview in the end

btw, I was worried that they were gonna use new OP here

kudos to the staffs for keeping it till the next episode though, definitely better this way

I never watched it... knowing the fact that the pace was so slow.... It'll definitely fit one episode.. ahahaha

Recaps should be banned

Shingeki no Kyojin OST - 02.The Reluctant Heroes

Glad to see they are already improving certain scenes, should put BD/DVD concerns to rest.

It has no effect on the episode count, so why whine about it unless it's ridiculous like Wolf's Rain 4 recap episodes in a row. The .5 recap episode which doesn't count to the total episode count is the best solution, Rahxephon and Bakemonogatari are two other series which have done the same, and if you didn't follow them while they aired, you wouldn't know about it.

Facts are the production is stuffed, animation quality has dropped and the amount of stills/panning have increased, the pre OP recap gets longer and longer, they needed a week's break.

I don't think I'll watch this ep but after seeing that pic I hope Mikasa makes the smallest excuse to punch Levi with all her gorilla strength.
