I got that model years ago and i used a very fine detail brush for it came out great.

heh me too, I phased-downed my 1/144 HG Aegis without a second thought. In fact I planned on it ahead of time before receipt of the model :heh:

are the fingers on the MG Strike Freedom Gundam Full Burst Mode individually jointed? if not, are there any kits of Strike Freedom with individaul jointed fingers?

No they r solid like others but the new kits have standard all jointed fingers it seems.

Well, they fingers on the MG SF is not exactly individually jointed but...it IS individually BALL JOINTED so, all you have to do is cut the small little piece that links them all. There, individual fingers! :D :heh:

only the trigger finger and thumb is jointed alone the last 3 r one peice.

Well, all i'm trying to say is that you CAN cut the 3 last fingers with a sharp knife to separate them. then you get this!:D

Well done. I always liked SD Gundams but never bothered to buy any (partly because they don't come fully colored .. now that my painting skills are a bit better, I may give it a try).

Thank you, theres definitely less moulded colours with sd kits. What bothered me about the destiny sd is that black & gray parts arent even moulded. Forearms were half blue & the beam sword moulded in dark blue, even the original seed sd kits had more moulded colours.

Now that, looks nice and clean! Good work!:cool: Btw, IMHO, I sugest sharpening the V-fins to make them look cooler and real bada$$ like.

It is pretty simple acctually, if you have the kit with you already, you can c that all are individually ball jointed, and the parts that are linked is pretty simple to cut. You have to apply some pressure when you cut it tho. Just do it slowly and it will b fine. Just as a warning, if you cut the fingers that are gold plated, the mark left will b black. use the other set of fingers that are not gold plated that comes with the same kit i think.

I was going to ask, what did you use to sharpen the fins? Its a very fragile part I'm curious how you managed to do that.

I wouldnt recommend cutting them they are combined by design to hold the weapons firmly in the plam.

Sharpening V-fins can be easily done by using sanding sticks and slowly sanding down until you get a sharp point. This can also be done to make the v-fins thinner as well. With sanding, you have alot of control over how much material is removed.

Did you include that in your video guide? How would it be possible to sand a small fragile part like fins? I can imagen it would snap very easily.

Well, I will include this in my next release of the tutorial :)

In my tutorial, I show a picture of some sanding sticks. Starting with the back one (roughest grit) use this one to do most of the shaping work. Then use the other sanding sticks to polish it down. Yes, the V-Fin's are very delicate, so you want to place the flat end of the fin on flatly on your hand and then lightly sand. It may take a while since you are slowly shaping it while you sand it down, but you have much more control. Here are some sample pictures of a Kampfer head fin that I sanded down, and then a picture for comparison of a non sanded Kampfer head fin,

Uh, what do you mean? I don't know how much the kit cost because my customer provided the kit for me. But in the past I've seen these kits at toysrus.com for $15 or so, and then normal price is about $40 or so.

IMHO a snapped kit never looks good, it needs the seams fixed, things sanded, and painted :lol:

That evolve RX-78 is awsome except for the feet they look lame -_-

is the difference between the strike freedom MG and full burst mode the way the dragoon system can be positioned? is there an actual difference between the two models or just the stand that allows the dragoon system to be mounted

edit: i think im just gonna make a custom stand for the regular MG kit

There is no difference between the standard & full burst release of the master grade strike freedom. The full burst release includes bonus material & extra parts (see dalong) plus a clear blue action base. The dragoon mounts are clear acrylic cable which attach to the action base included.

The gold colour for the MG Full burst is different (ie. better) from the normal MG as well
