It was the Metal build thing that got to me, I mean come on what have we seen like 4 metals builds so far and he expects a crap load more from just 1 series!
I can't fathom that way of thinking:eyespin:

BTW anyone seen the colour schemes thing on GG.
Some nice designs floating about, I'm tempted to use some on some of my gundams see how they work out:p

MG Exia R2 and R3 Conversion Parts!!

Are they solid parts? If so, it's going to make that pretty back heavy. Looks really cool though.

Resin are heavier than regular plastic, so I'd say this'll add some weight. Considering how weak the ankles of MG Exia is, it'll be hard to do dynamic poses.

"Metal Build R3 to the rescue!" then :D.

Exia_00 2013-03-21 02:38

Dont think we will be getting:

MG Exia R2
MG Exia R3

So on and so forth, queue list which I wouldn't be bothered with 20 times on a page

I know all too well, how heavy Polyurethane resin is. What I'm questioning is, if those parts are hollowed inside? Otherwise, they are going to weight a ton.

Providenceangle 2013-03-21 11:43

I hate the legs(always did) but, I'm glad they are finally going to release the double bullet. Looks pretty awesome.

Anyone know how they do their prototyping? Looks like it milled out of a chunk?

LoweGear 2013-03-21 11:46

Rapid prototyping is traditionally done using 3D Printers, hence why you can see thin lines and ridges like fingerprints on prototype parts, denoting the layers that were stacked on top of each other as the piece was formed.

I figured as much, but I'm sure they do machine them as well. I already know how they make molds and such. Having worked in injection plastics before.

For the record. Anyone wondering why bandai doesn't do more colour separations in the plastics, needs to realize that, making metal molds is expensive. It can cost up to half a million dollars for a mold.(Depending on size and complexity) Even modifying a mold, can run thousands of dollars. Chrome plating, etc... The fact that the kits only cost as much as they do, is surprising.

Edit: Slowly working on modding my HGs to run leds.

Age 2 eye piece mold:

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps496561ea.jpg

Gonna cast the eye/beard piece in clear. Paint in the areas I don't want to have light show though.

This is the piece that's inside.(I have the age 2 normal and double bullet to modify)

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...ps0b942023.jpg

It's so small, I'm not gonna bother to make a two piece mold. Just pour in clear resin and sand it to the correct shape and size.

Zeydra 2013-03-21 17:09

Oh yeah, Double Bullet, and here I was scared they weren't going to do one. Just a bit of a shame I recently picked up the high grade. Oh well, it'll look good next to the Zeydra at least which most certainly will not get a master grade to go with the Age 2.

So, guess they aren't as done with Age as I thought which is cool. Now, I shall go back to praying for a Providence in vain on the hope this bodes well for another Seed master grade or two.

Appel 2013-03-21 17:22

Neat, I didn't expect the release of the Double Bullet so soon. I'll probably pick that one up!^^

Told you it's only a matter of time ;). Still, will the MG shoulder strong enough to support the weapons in dynamic poses? It might become loose and droopy over time just like MG Titus' shoulders.

No online exclusive? Nice news indeed! It’s good to see Bandai being reasonable sometimes. Btw, I am confused, which one is the correct name? “GP01 Full Burner” or “GP01 Full Vernian” like the site said?

Anyway, beautiful design and it’s nice to see Full Burner no longer has “clown feet” like the old MG. On the other hand, RG Destiny's feet is a turn off. The HG's feet is way better.

I think the name confusion is a product of mistranslation but both stuck, I like to go with Vernian, sounds cooler and matches with what the FB is, a space use MS, hence more verniers and thrusters

IMO the clown feet is still there....just less pronounced

Now though, we have 2 0083 RGs, so one more spot, most likely GP-02, we need Gato to fight Kou lol

Yeah, GP02 has good chance, but can the RG frame really hold that gigantic GP02 shield? Still, the fact that GP02 received a recent HG treatment like ZZ can hurt its chance a bit. If that makes GP02 outta the picture, then GP03 and GP04 has more chances to be RGed.

As for Strike HD Kai's color: it's still a prototype color. I won't rely on that until I see the finished product (remember Rozen Zulu). But yeah, the blue is a bit darker compared to the original.

duotiga 2013-03-22 07:28

Are we forgetting the unexpecting announcement of MG Crossbone X-2 ver ka? @@

be getting Strike HD just to be perfect strike =x

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2013-03-22 07:40

I’m curious whether the online-exclusive Sword-Launcher Perfect pack use identical sword and cannon like the previous MG or is it also an updated version? (outside of the new connectors to Aile pack of course)

I suspect that it's almost identical with what we already have + the handle were change to fit the swappable fingers.

About MG Crossbone X-2:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-8D4tuiLZeo...rP46_xvfuQ.jpg

I really hope that this is not an online exclusive kit. I've been waiting for this MG longer than MG Justice. I want this to be cheap like MG X-1 so that I can buy it right away. Thus, I'll hold my personal celebration for this release until there's a further confirmation whether this is an exclusive or regular item.

Scan says 4620 Yen, so I doubt that this is an online exclusive.

Wow this announcement came out of nowhere

Quick progress report on the Vigna Gina:
*Seams filled in the shoulders, arms, legs, feet, and torso
*Hollow parts filled in the head, skirts, and calves
*Plenty of spare putty put inside the feet and calves [there were some gigantic gaps visible on the backs of the calves past the thrusters, letting you see right into the hollow calf cavities], giving it a fair bit more weight and stability in the legs
*Most of it basecoated in GW Astronomican Grey and joint parts in GW Boltgun Metal.

Edit: Guys, help me out. Can't remember what's behind the crossbone suits' visors- are they mono-eyes or binocular?

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2013-03-22 17:45

^ Looking good from here. Keep it up.

Also, I wish you could do something about Vigna Gina’s “wing thrusters”. I always think it’s too far down and makes the kit look uncool ;).

They're very loose and floppy on my kit [and judging from how they're attached, I don't think it's just mine]. I dunno, I could possibly replace them with something, but no donors spring to mind just yet.
Something like a Vigna Gina Cannon would be cool if I had a Guncannon-type lying around, haha.

So I finally broke down and bought a Wing Gundam(TV)... I went with the 2010 MG. Anyone have any major issues with the kit? Anything I should look out for?

Well, then again there is the bit at the end which says hobby online shop (can
't read this blurry kanji) item. But I still doubt that it is still an exclusive with that price tag.

For me, it's not exactly that major but the shoulder armor is kinda loose due to the transformation and the legs' inner frame was also kinda problematic, again, due to it being able to transform. Everythong else, I don't have a problem with it.

Well, as long as its not highly expensive outside Japan, I'm okay with it. I have no problem with limited items since the store I often buy things to can get almost anything for me. ;)

EDIT: Unfortunately, it seems that X-2 really is an exclusive kit due to what chiu-fan said and the same red banner as another exclusive item which is RG Destiny's WoL:
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-w4n_ZqA5oG.../s1600/11y.jpg

Oh well, I'm still extremely happy that X-2 got MGed at all since, before this announcements, I doubted that this kit will see the light of day. Anyway, my celebration is not for nothing and I will get X-2 for sure ^^.

@Providenceangle. I don't have the kit, but some also said that the wings can get loose over time.

Providenceangle 2013-03-23 05:40

I don't mind loose parts. I more concerned with parts breaking or what not.

Finally got the clear eyes done for my HG age 2. I can use this on other kits now. Only problem I have is making clearance for the led inside the head. End up cutting away a lot of plastic. I'll have to glue the pieces in, once they are painted.

Sometimes Bandai can treat the fans pretty well. They're like a pimp sometimes. Often backhanding us across the face, but later apologizing.

No major problems with fragile parts, the kit is very well made

Just be a little careful with the hooks parts in the backpack which allows the wings the go up, I broke mine while being careless
