As far as I know, there is no Chinese version yet.

However, the Chinese version of Hibiki no mahou vol 1 (小小魔法使響) has just been released. Hibiki is drawn by Rei Izumi (who had done the "Kanon & Air スカイ", which IMO is one of the best Key official comics) and the story is written by Jun Maeda (chief scenairo writer for Air). It starts off slowly, but the pace really picks up after the third/fourth chapter. Overall, I find the book very interesting.

The AIR manga has been done by the same artist (Katsura Yukimaru) who made the Kashimashi ~Girl Meets Girl~'s artwork, that's why the different and interesting look.

Here's two samples from the manga:

This is the first I have ever heard about this... must find ways to obtain it. *nods*

Also want to find the for-all-ages version of the game, *nods* though for some reason I am led to believe that the game and the show are not at all alike...? Hmm...

Leo_Otaku 2006-01-27 14:28

they are similar but there are choices you make in teh game so parts differ

Unless you can understand Japanese or read it then it isn't fun. I can undrstand a small portion XD but I'm learning each day

Chiibi 2006-01-29 22:40

bleeeh I don't like that artwork at all! Misuzu looks all pudgy and Yukito isn't a bishie anymore! X(

panzerfan 2006-02-10 14:02

From the looks of it this manga still deviates from the story of the game a little (and is more akin to the movie). It would be interesting nonetheless to look at how Yukimaru chose to interpret the story though.

Considering how Kashimashi is playing out I find something as sombre and as abstract as AIR to be totally different. At any rate, it sounds to be very, very interesting...

Pipp-ORK 2006-04-09 11:42

Ack.

They made Yukito kinda....ugly, and Misuzu looks really different (although Kano probably looks the worst). ;-;

I'll probably end up buying this, though. 'Cause, I mean, it's AIR. <3

I LOVE your sig BTW Pipp-ORK :)

Yay!
Stupid question: Is this series serialized? If so, what magazine?

As far as i know AIR manga was serialized in the Comptiq MediaMix magazine and the series ended in the march issue.

hoshino_crimsonwings 2006-05-09 12:53

Manga Misuzu looks more or less more similar in the movie, than the anime. I really liked how they drew Yukito in the anime though, super-hot guy.

paTKany 2006-10-17 07:01

AIR manga chapter 1 has been scanslated:
