uhm what is the story about if it is ok to ask? :T_T:

sasuke706 2017-09-05 07:19

Guy is born with black hair and black hair is a target of persecution (lolol).
Has no competency with magic so decides to learn sword from super amazing omg mentor (because by logic, the stronger the mentor the stronger the pupil!).
Decides to try to become king because why not.

I'm sure I'll resume reading this some day.

What Sasuke said
Isn't the trainer logic true though?

Here's the synopsis :

Quote:

In the world of Grinotia there is a concept magic. In order to use magic, the caster must process mana through 1 0f 6 Elemental Affinity that is embedded in himself. Humans and non-humans generally possess said Elemental Affinity.

In the case of humans, their Elemental Affinities are reflected in the color of their hair.
- Possessing 1 to 2 Elements is brown hair
- Possessing 2 to 3 Elements is golden hair
- Possessing 4 Elements is either red or blue hair
- Possessing 5 Elements is purple hair
- Possessing 6 Elements is silver hair
The more elements one has generally means more mana capacity as well

The protagonist, Ladius, has black hair. Black hair signifies no Elemental Affinity and thus inability to use magic. His childhood was full of misfortune caused by his black hair.
But after rescued by his to be mentor, The Legendary Magic Sword King, he decided to prove to the world that even him can raise to greatness.
Thus began the rising story of the black haired king.

How does he get strongr tough? He trains with only his sword and becomes a musclehead MC ?

wuhugm 2017-09-05 09:08

^Sword Arts :D

Btw, he can still use mana to do variations of Body Strengthening Techniques

His starting mana is around 3 Elementals worth

Well yes and no. You can never become really good if your mentor is himself bad and your talent is sub par (which is the MCs starting condition, though of course, he isn't really, but whatever). On the other hand, the best of the best tend to be geniuses and thus fairly bad in teaching others, especially the sub par ones (it's surprisingly hard to teach someone something, that you just take as so simple that you never really learned it and knew it from the beginning).

So yeah, you have a chance to become much stronger than with normal trainer. On the other hand the chance of it failing horribly and you not learning a thing are much higher.

^Depends on the subject studied though

In Kungfu movies, the mentor is always master class, it's like that

Or like legendary players becoming coach in soccer

that's just movie, Erotora, You have to take account in trainer age and their style, what they taught. How many famous coach from legendary players that's actually success as coach ?? same reason.

To put it simply, Martial arts is one of the better one to even out talents, since real battle experiences become much more important and the nature of late born art always exceed predecessor. But the same still apply, good teacher is different from good fighter.

In actuality, learning martial art from a super strong guy is unlikely to get you much results, only sparring with him is. Reason being that, Martial art is rely on body conditions, reflex and a lot of nature born quality, the super strong guy is most likely a nature born fighter, and his teaching might hardly help anyone who isn't have similar level of sense for combat

Realistically, if you actually want to become strong and overcome talents and quickly, learn martial art from system design for that purpose, some martial was born specifically to counter other arts and combat certain situation. For example, Wing Chun vs old Chinese origin martial arts. Krav Maga vs most of the current sport art

^Main reason of having legendary mentor is For Amazement Purpose yo

like :

"What!? You're the disciple of XXXXXXXX!?"

not :

"You're a disciple of who?"

:heh:

Ruki0089 2017-09-05 21:58

I actually want to see the latter...

dragon1412 2017-09-05 22:15

tried this one before, don't remember which part I left off though, As much as I like the story where MC is powerless and trying to overcame it, this one didn't left much impression on me. Some part were over simplify make it hard for me to immerse in the story. Might consider getting it back when I actually ran out of things to read

wuhugm 2017-09-06 00:51

Holy shit, this has incest... :twitch: ...no joke

Ruki0089 2017-09-06 00:54

Incest!!!! Someone just summons me!!! Who with who!!? Who does who!!!?

Lol! I thought everyone in his family hate him?

Rinvelt 2017-09-06 03:41

Well, to be fair, it gets a bonus point just not being a reincarnation story. Sasuke once made me retire it from my backlog in the main thread, but if you made one for it I guess I'll put it back in.

wuhugm 2017-09-06 04:19

^Yea, now that you think about it, Japanese MC is ruining isekai because they are bringing Japan itself to another world :heh:

Especially food, it just infuriate me so much :heh:

^^His older sister dont't
