It could have anything extra, unless that single DVD would be priced lower than the others, but the first/last DVD could have as well 3 episodes.

Oh i forgot to say this about live action movie.
It says that recording will take place in Los Angeles, well that piece came from when Kurumada went down there to record music for the upcoming Saint Seiya Online game.

On friday 20th a special Saint Seiya reunion was held in Yokohama.

"Seiya Comitte, Seiya Staff, Seiyuu and more gather together to talk about the future of Saint Seiya and the schedule program for Lost Canvas.

Friday was a really special day for Sasshi, it was her birthday and what a great gift to her when the site she is supervising was finally uploaded directly from the reunion office. We had cake and celebrated for a few minutes because there is a lot of work to do these coming months regarding the market advertising and the television on air schedule of CM. She was very happy but the surprises didn't finish, sensei gave her a special DVD, everyone didn't expect that it was the definite version of the new legend of Lost Canvas.

After the celebration the special unit for Lost Canvas music talked about their goals with this all world project and the impact on their careers. The producer of this unit is working backstage to give us a great album, also the decision of what will come first: image album or OST was taken that night. Dream Unit Team is working hard to schedule performances on Music Japan and Music Station.

A few of us received the official poster, the seiya staff gave it away to all the people there. Im very proud that those two were promoted to be part of the canvas project comitte and part of the team that will be involded in next dimension the coming year. Mr. Toripon and Ms. Sasshi are now part of the very important team family of sensei.

Lets work together to give all our cosmo in this first season, the second one will come later, but first the first step, lets do it now. As Sasshi told you here a few months ago, the hints she gave here about Tenkai, we will see it in the future and there are more coming chapters and story in Shonen Champion.

In the coming months, around autumn, a new market research will be running to decide if the Seiya character will be back in a movie and in a television series. Sasshi told us the other day that sensei told her that Seiya character will definetly come back to anime, and now we confirmed when he told us last friday.
"

Thanks to Hawk321 by Saint Seiya Fan.

Summary:

- Seems like the first DVD is ready, but it is just being held back to give enough time for the music production and marketing to have everything ready.

- A second season of Lost Canvas will be coming in the future, probably the only thing they need to confirm this, is that the DVDs sell well.

- A high interest to bring Seiya back to TV and movies in the future. Zeus and Chronos sagas might get started later year, although Kurumada has to start publishing the related manga first :heh:

Amazon now has a release date for the first DVD & Blu-ray "2009/06/24" with a runtime of 45 mins.
Can we assume this means 2 episodes ?

Tetsu Aero 2009-03-19 14:31

Wel they havn't stated any episode numbers, just that the first season will finish after Aldebaran's fight. Which equals around 25 eps i believe.

Samanosuke 2009-03-19 16:09

TMS website lists it as 13 episodes.

It's going to be 2 seasons, like Hades; but the first season is 13 episodes.

Anyway, here is the trailer, CAM version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUYUGXOjFOQ

Thanks to Shiryu and Nicol from SaintSeiyaFan.

OP theme: The Realm of Athena, by EUROX.
ED theme: Hana no kusari, by 生乃麻紀 (Am I reading this wrong or is it Maki Ikuno?) with Marina del Rey.

You are right, the animation quality is incredible. I really hope it remains like that the whole series, and I really like the song, which should be the OP theme.

Hope we get a streamed version soon from the official website, and another trailer with some voices on it. Can't wait to listen to Aya.

Seems like yesterday's trailer was somewhat incomplete.

Here is a new extended version with many more scenes, still a CAM version.

Crimrui 2009-03-22 07:27

Looks pretty good, animation is much more fluid then the previous chapter. I just hope there won't be any stuff like ''After I saw your technique once, second time will not work on me'' kinda crap that Gold Saints said often. Is that Hades in the trailer? Long black hair? If so, then he looks like a beast =)

Sander RX 2009-03-22 07:35

Why 13 episode OVA?How about a TV with many episodes?Do they think that it wouldnt fare well in this day and age?
