You don't need to play the game no, you can do either first. The anime has a few changes with the story, so i believe the best thing to do is to treat the two differently.

So yeah, upto you which one you'd rather go with first. Watch or play. :)

Do the imperials hate Darcsens too?

The Darcsens are hated all over the place in the world of VC, except possibly the East, and we don't have a glimpse of the place at all.

Hopefully, in the second installment of the game we might get to see the East.

Well there has been desire expressed to make a sequel. Even if it doesn't make it to the west I know enough Japanese now to get by.

He hasn't, and he still talks as if he knows about the game. Sure he can read up about it, though experiencing it is completely different. & of course shown here, he doesn't know everything about it.

I'm just saying that the fact still reminds that there's been no talks that a sequel will happen, and MrTerrorist is talking as if it has.

There are certain things that don't need to be stated before you get the hint. Also, a good piece of work can get you hooked on the setting based on the summary alone.

Why are the Darcsens that hated all over the place?
Are they a proletarian minority or something like that?

According to history the Darcsen people were laying waste to the land and destroying the continent. Then the Valkyrur came and defeated the Darcsens and saved the land. So due to this Good Valkyrur vs Evil Darcsen approach to history the Darcsens had generally been persecuted and still are at the current time in the series.

But then again, let's not forget that...

How different will the anime be to the game?

From what a friend was telling me, he has played the game and beat it, they have already changed more than a few things; espcially with episode 9

I was curious because I happen to like Maximillion and heard he was quite evil in the game. However, after seeing episode 9 and hearing all the changes, I was wondering if they'll change the fates of the characters.

My apologies if this has already been brought up. :O

Never gave it much thought because I was too busy oogling Selvaria. She's sooooo cute in that ending.

It's not just Max's head that is missing. HE is missing. That's just his cloak and chest armour laid on a chair.

I suddenly want to do a story based on that.

And I agree, Jag, Selvaria is so cute!

Is the Valkyria a race or one person? The Story in the beginning seems to point to one person, yet it would be nearly impossible for one person to build such extensive ruins.
