Pinky Street

This is actually something I had promised Tempy to do a long time ago, and since it was Hikari no Kiseki's sixth anniversary, it seemed like a pretty good time to deliver...

The two episodes were released as DVD extras for two limited edition Pinky:st figures (Saki sweet and bitter versions, as they appear in the episodes) by Gonzo. I think I also saw somewhere they were aired at one point. They are a blend of typical animation with fully computer-generated graphics, which are pulled off very well.

They're pretty cute, and I hope people enjoy them!

I downloaded this thinking it might be okay. I do like the style of the Pinky Street figurines.

But good lord...

The only way to describe this is...an anime version of Bratz.

It's VERY preppy, shallow and seems to send out the wrong messages.

"Dress appropriately to your gender or you'll get picked on and won't be happy"

...yeah, lovely.

I don't recommend this. The only good thing I say about it is that the CG sections are pretty well done and it is cute and is loyal to the Pink Street style.

Oh, I thought that was a given once I saw the screenshots a few months ago. It just seems to scream "preppy!!" to me. :heh:

I've downloaded it and will watch it regardless, though. Who knows? I may like it. And I'm big enough a fan of Pinky Street that I can't not watch it. :p
