I'm expecting it to be in Fall 2013, that leaves us to just under 12 chapters... You think that's enough to finish up the current arc in the manga?

So basically..... a full-length 24 episode season with the Sisters Arc and the Misaki Arc.....


That would be perfect.

And with the Index movie and PSP game at around the Daihansensai period, everything and everyone would be up to date for the Index 3.


Lol, what are the odds that Index 3 would be the year after, and they rush productions again :heh:


(Also, Railgun 2 would pretty much ensure that Mikoto wins first place at.... Everything again :heh:)

If it doesn't finish in the manga, they can certainly discuss it with the author and aim to have the manga and anime finish the story around the same time.

But that said... I want to remind everyone that this is a spoiler-free thread, so beyond these sort of vague generalities, please DO NOT post anything about the future plot for the anime. I realize that limits what can be said in this thread to some degree... but there's also a Spoilers & Speculation thread that can serve the other purpose for manga readers.

Strangely, I feel I can welcome the advent of this second season.

It's good thing that they will do railgun 2 before index 3 because some characters should be introduced before we see them in Index 3.

Well, whether it is Index 3 or Railgun 2, I will get to see "them" anyway.

Railgun season 2? twitch eyebrows.... really......... another full year and more months of waiting........................ if ever there will be a year for Index Season 3..... and I even compliment JC for doing a magnificent movie to just throw this at me.

They do moeshit the entire time with an original story as background.

They do an edited Sisters Arc to include more Uiharu-Saten-Kuroko, and then 2nd arc is anime original.

Unedited Sister arc with anime original 2nd season.

Edited Sisters arc as above, but with the 2nd arc the Daihaseisai arc.

Unedited Sisters arc and complete Daihaseisai arc.

If it's the same team as the first Railgun your options are down to only those two.

And if the current manga arc isn't able to finish on time, that'll narrow it down a lot more.

Not really a fan of Railgun here, but if the second season covers the Sisters and Misaki's Arcs (especially Mikoto vs ITEM and Mikoto vs Misaki), maybe I would appreciate it better than the Index anime.

*Sigh* When clicking those links the first think i look at was Misaki's chest

But hey, here's to hoping Railgun II becomes less moeblob and more action.

It says that more info regarding the story and staff will be released 27th October (in 6 days)

But what really concerns me is that "S" in name - Toaru Kagaku no Railgun S
Because Shakugan no Shana S were only 4 ovas.

And keep in mind Index was normally named 1 and 2, this S could imply something bad,
like for example they don't have any intentions of making a 3rd season if this is truly a 13-26 episode arc.

Going to have to wait until December before any more info comes out, I'm sure that it will be a long seasoned anime..... *Cross fingers*

December issue of Dengeki Daioh comes out on October.
So you have to wait only 6 days(maybe not even that if the fans are desprate enough) for more info.

Railgun 2 is just 13 episodes? I wonder how would the Sisters Arc and the Mental Out Arc would fit in all that.

The exact length wasn't mentioned yet, or at least I didn't noticed it anywhere.
(And railgun 1 was also originally only 13 episodes and they extended it to 26.)


PS: what do you think the S stands for? "Sisters"?

Another think to consider... Maybe it's because of the Dengeki festival, but since they made the announcement now instead of next year, does it mean there's a chance this wouldn't be a Fall series?



Technically we never did see Railgun vs Mental Out, but that's entering plot spoiler territory already and we'll be having a lot of outsiders here soon enough.
