Rainy Cocoa (Ameiro Cocoa)

Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)

Original creator (manga): IAM Agency
Plot summary: An ordinary college student, Aoi Tokura, was having a bad day. It was so bad [because] he was [called] ugly by a good-looking guy on the train. Walking down the street in [the] rain, Aoi found a small, but cozy cafe, Rainy Color. He started to work part-time as he enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate he was served. Then a guy came into Rainy Color… it was Keiichi Iwase, the one who told Aoi was ugly!!??

The creators describe Rainy Cocoa as one of the world's first digital manga which allows readers to toggle between Japanese and English text and audio. The manga features two voice casts, although only the Japanese cast has been confirmed for the anime.

I remember hearing a rather interesting concept of reading a digital manga that allows the readers to switch one of the bilingual languages in both text and audio. I saw that same concept in another manga but I can't put my finger on it.

Not sure if I'll watch it, but it certainly does also have another benefit of being likely simuldubbed which is pretty rare in ongoing anime these days.

In short, this series serves most likely as an experiment according to the creators.

Scheduled to air April 2015. Looks like this will be a short since it's going to replace Minna Atsumare! Falcom Gakuen SC time slot.

Slice of life is strong in this one. Not sure which character I like the most but maybe Kei. Otherwise, meh episode.

Well ... to be honest the first ep did not do much for me in any direction of the compass. Oh well.

I think I will drop this for now.

Welp, this feels like Coffee Shop AU: The Animation. It only has 2 mins per episode (including the OP) and it shows, and on top of that, even in those few minutes the characters sometimes go off-model, oy. Would probably have been better with 5 mins per episode to be honest, as right now it feels disjointed.

Funimation has picked this series up: http://www.funimation.com/blog/2015/...now-streaming/
