^ Actually it is already in use. While theoretically it should be possible to have "Kohaku" and "kohaku" since vBulletin is case sensitive at login. It is unfortunate but they made it case-insensitive at the User Manager plane.

(note that user name is only information it is not an id so it is not a database issue)

I hope nobody minds me venting a bit of frustration. It's not aimed at any one person in particular!

It seems like every other day somebody comes in here or PMs a mod asking for a username change. Now it's perfectly fine to ask for this if you have good reasons (for example if you have come to hate the username you chose, or if you couldn't get the username you wanted because of some limitations in the registration form), but... please DO NOT ask for a username change on a whim!

While changing a username is reasonably easy, it still takes time from admins. So do not ask for a username change if you feel bored or whatever. In short, if you can live with your current username, please leave it as-is and don't ask for a change.

Just my 2cts.

PS. I hope I didn't sound of hypocrite here as it feels like I probably do the least amount of "username change work" among the admin team :)

And in your case your reason for wanting a username change is perfectly acceptable.
