The series that was recently announced by the author (with collaboration) of Non Non Biyori now has a title. Should be interesting with the visual released so far. The manga author Atto is apparently in charge of the character designs and we'll get some info this week. It will be a TV anime adaptation.

The magazine reveals the character Akeno Misaki, who is described as cheerful, very active, and a positive thinker. One of her phrases is, "Any friend of the sea is family to me!"

With Japan having developed as a maritime nation, it became necessary to have specialized schools to teach skills essential to protecting the sea. The setting is one such all-girls school. The girls who enroll here study to become "blue mermaids," through classroom instruction and teaching of practical skills.

Reiko Yoshida (Non Non Biyori, K-ON!, Aria, Tamayura) will handle series composition for the upcoming original anime Hai-Furi. The magazine published an interview with the original creator, producers, and director, but they are currently anonymous.

The magazine also announced that Non Non Biyori manga creator Atto, who is designing the characters for the series, will provide more than 30 character designs. The magazine revealed the second character:

Gotta wonder which specific channels will they air? Was MBS also confirmed to broadcast this as well? They love to pick a lot of Aniplex shows for themselves lately (only other channels to follow suit are Fuji Television and Asahi Broadcasting Corporation).

ANN: The official website for the Hai-Furi television anime series announced on Saturday that Luna Haruna will perform the show's ending theme song "Ripple Effect." The single with Haruna's ending theme will ship in Japan on May 25.
Aniplex began streaming a region-locked commercial on Thursday for the show.
