Is there any news regarding blu-ray releases of Macross F yet? I'd really love to have it in true HD (assuming it's made in HD) -- this is the kind of show that really benefits from HD, and I'm willing to put down the cash on the Japanese releases.

Episode one was already released on Blue-Ray, in a longer edition which features the special broadcast, the normal broadcast and even some additional stuff spliced together into a very good first episode.

Excellent news. Any idea if it's in true HD (720 or 1080) or if it's an upscale? If it's an upscale I'll get DVDs, but if it's true HD then the BD is definitely worth it.

There aren't any extras, but that's par for course on Japanese releases. Well, there is a commentary track for the Yack Deculture version, but you'll probably have to wait for the last disc if you anything other than creditless ops and eds.

As far as I know it is true HD, but you better ask Westlo, he´s the crack when it comes to the DVD and Blue-Ray releases.
