Best ending anime

I want to see a anime with a kick ass ending. Everything turns out well for the main cast. Something similar to the love hina manga ending.

KholdStare 2008-03-18 00:16

Damn, this will be hard for me, since most of my anime are depressing. Anyways:

Spoiler for Just in case:

gonzo562 2008-03-18 00:19

suzuka had a good ending
gundam seed had a goodending

that all i can think of atm

Evangelion (especially the movies), of course,
Beserk is a close second,
and Saikano has third place,
in fourth comes Escaflowne,
and finally in fifth place comes X.

:).

I actually do think these are great endings, but I doubt they meet any of your requirements.

So, how about:

Macross - literally everyone, left living, is happy.
Nadesico - again everyone is happy, for some reason or another.
FLCL - well they are not unhappy.

jedinat 2008-03-18 00:53

Yeah, I'm sure those first five james3wk mentioned are the exact opposite of what you are looking for

Full Moon wo Sagashite has a notably happy ending.

I liked the ending for Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure. It gave me warm fuzzies. The 14th episode, a special and epilogue to the series, was hilarious.

you pick the animes with the most sad endings...

A good anime with a nice ending would be... Gahh my mind goes blank

qtipbrit 2008-03-18 01:23

Eh, I'm guessing this refers to good endings as opposed to good endings.
Ef - A Tale of Memories has a nice ending with all of the characters happy and such.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ended with a generally happy ending with all of the main characters alive.
Its sequel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai ended even more nicely, with just about everyone happy, even the "villain".
Eh, yeah. I might think of some more later.

Wouldn't telling how well the ending ended spoil it for you?

Anyway, personally, Hajime no Ippo had one of the best endings I've ever seen.

:dots: Endings don't have ends.

(some people--like me--find watching a show a less stressful experience when they know to expect a happy ending)

Deus ex Digital Boy 2008-03-18 05:16

Well, spoilers for all, though telling you what show it's a spoiler for would spoil it - Mai-HiME

SeijiSensei 2008-03-18 09:04

Oh! Edo Rocket ends with a party.
Monster's ending is very conclusive and happy for nearly everyone.

Planetes and REC

I second Onegai teacher and Higurashi no naku koro ni.

Also I think Rozen maiden has a pretty good ending, and Gift eternal rainbow has a good ending too.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan. Arguably not a happy ending, but in the end, everyone is fine with how the things currently are and that very ending episode... it gave off such a special feeling to it and at the end scene, the really warm colors of it truly made it one of the best endings you can get. Sure it's not where they live happily ever after and live a great life, but they've gone through a lot and in the end, it's very satisfying. It made me crave for more for being such a splendid show, yet I feel satisfied and good as things are.

EXEs 2008-03-19 00:07

I agrees with r0ca, and lemme add to it. The last episode of Gurren Lagann gives you this feeling of awe and wonderness as you hear Simon's last inspiration speech, which, IMO, is more GAR than Kamina's.

Although anyone who's read the novels knows that more is to come for the main characters, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid definitely ends on a positive note for all the main characters. The extra OVA is also a good watch if you need some light-heartedness to brighten you up after this otherwise serious, slightly dark anime.

RahXephon's ending might be considered "happy", although most of the actual last episode had some heavy stuff going on.

deltakano 2008-03-19 11:19

^ RahXephon is one of the few anime series that wraps every loose end up. FMP! Second Raid left something to be desire. It definitely enabled the option for a fourth season. -.- Tsukihime also has a good ending. Baccano too!

Frans 2008-03-19 11:32

I have a few in my mind, but the most notable title in my head right now is PlanetEs. At first it's a little slow, but the ending is one of the best ending in an anime.
