Appel, I can't give you rep right now, but that looks F'ing awesome. Good job.
Aren't his eyes supposed to be red though? I like it like this, but just checking...

the eyes are more like a dark orange though. its just reflecting there a lot so you cant really see it :P also, while putting the head together the eye sticker slipped up just a tiny bit which makes it look a little weird... its not THAT bad and taking the head apart again would only damage the plastic so i wont bother fixing that.

if you dont want to paint your models a good flat top coat really is a great way to make your models look a little more professional. without that shiny plastic look it just looks SO much better... you just need to be careful not to spray any clear pieces with it because they would turn foggy XD
i also just line and spray the pieces when they are still on the runners. makes the whole thing a lot easier and a lot quicker.

thanks for the tip!

EDIT: and Appel, you inspired me to show u my Hi Nu, note i havent touched it in so long and its as it was since it came out back in 07

This site has some nice tips on flat coats.

Mostly basic stuff but there are some other nice tips to take note of.

Did you intentionally paint it in Ribbon Almarks' colours scheme ?

Then might I humbly suggest you do that slight bit of touch up on yellows to complete the job.

yup, he pretty much got that all right in that tutorial^^ especially the parts about getting rid of that plastic toy look and hiding scratches with the top coat.
but that site is generally great for tutorials!

I really got to get my hands on some Flat-coat, makes gunpla look so much better (and will hide all the mistakes I made :p) Meanwhile, Wing is taunting me to start building from within it's open box.
just one more week...

BTW, I got an honorable mention in Gaijin Gunpla's Sennryuu contest, which is nice (name the TV show I'm referencing, without using the internet to find out, and I'll kneel* for you)

*Said kneeling shall be done digitally

Pretty awesome stuff at the expo (DAMN to that RG 0 Gundam)

Exia_00 2011-11-08 11:05

Wasn't the RG Strike Rouge on sale at the Expo too? and that being the only way to get one?

If only the pack it came with was the IWSP so as to force us to buy both but im tempted to buy the strike now that launcher and sword come out. Strike Noir would be a nice addition too lol

yeah i think its an expo exclusive. just like the RG strike "phase shift off" version.

Exia_00 2011-11-08 13:09

it isnt from the current expo though is it?

it is: http://gundamguy.blogspot.com/2011/1...n-2011_07.html

the phase shift off version is a bandai online store exclusive though and not an expo exclusive as it seems^^

Exia_00 2011-11-08 13:36

Guess the likely hood of finding it on ebay are low, at this stage anyway... if only launcher and sword had Robot Damashii versions so that would settle it, over getting the real grade versions. Though the detailing is just amazing.
