For me, it looks too flat. Like cut out pla-plate wings. If it had a little thickness like Wing Zero, it may look better.

The large circular hinge is also slightly distracting.

It's mostly the hinge. Destiny or Freedom looks fine with flat wings.

Also, looking at the connector I think I found a replacement for the crab shell of the Forbidden. I'm going to buy Amazing Binder when it's out :)

EDIT: finally completed the first SD
Dynamic tag cannot be rendered. (PrintableThread)
Fuck marker, pencil is the shit.

I guess it comes down to personal preference, I tried using a pencil on a couple of occasions and didn't like how it turned out. Yours looks really good though. Did you use a mechanical pencil or a traditional lead pencil?

Mechanical

Actually, up close the model looks horrible, but on a bit distance as well as under low res camera the graphene dust look smooth and slightly metalic because I use glossy topcoat instead of recommended matte ones.

I use pencil because I'm really bad at mixing paint and brushing. :p

No matter how many plastic parts have become brittle [6 broken areas for my HG Shaldoll Rogue], I still swear by the easy-to-use, Tamiya Panel Line Accent. I don't fancy the grey Tamiya colour all that much though.

On a side note, I'm currently on the Delta Kai and holy toots, the sticker sheet feels like something from a non-genuine kit. The edges of the stickers are curling up and I've already had several yellow stickers stuck on the sprues. With regards to the kit, I've mixed feeling of it.

It didn't feel as magnificent as Delta Gundam, though I've not completed the hands, backpack and equipment. And I still have a boxed Delta Plus, urgh, that purple plastic color isn't as nice as the anime's blue/grey.

Hahaha

Yeah, Delta Kai is extremely disappointing compared to the original and Plus.

I've tried using the enamel wash method but I really suck at it. The hassle of cleaning up isn't quite worth it for me, I'm going back to Gundam marker. :D

As for the Delta Kai, you guys can try paint markers instead of stickers. While they aren't perfect, it sure beats risking the stickers peeling off in time.

ZeroXSEED 2013-12-25 20:14

IMHO, stickers are fine when they're few enough, because topcoating can prolong their life by months if not years.

Delta Kai just overblown it to insane proportion, just like Build Booster. In fact, I haven't touched my box of HG Sinanju because sticker, and that is not as bad as Delta Kai.

I don't think I'll let HG Sinanju nowhere near a paint...

Fucked up and don't realize the silver marker I use is enamel based, thankfully the topcoat is not pure enamel but enamel-acrylic hybrid.

I am very close to ordering it myself, I already know I'm likely to get it trice but I was going to wait until I could ship it together with some other upcoming kits.
It's very tempting now though...

BEAUTIFUL! Absolutely gorgeous! I wished I had the courage to buy one of those and put it together. Unfortunately, too scares of my own lack of skills to get it at the moment.

ZeroXSEED 2013-12-26 23:30

Fuck Sinanju, fuck sticker. Took me two hours to get the torso, head and the sticker involved look passable.

jimsbeanz 2013-12-26 23:34

Sinanju has no decal, it's all sticker.

I want to paint but I suck at washing and reverse washing.

There are HGUC Sinanju waterslide decals though, back when it was first released

Not too sure if you can find them anymore though, this was before they stopped making waterslides for awhile

jimsbeanz 2013-12-27 03:46

not sure if you're building the 1/100 or 1/144 but here

Thank you so much for this! The first person (that I've seen) to post images of the yellow pieces painted gold. I've been considering this, and was curious about how it would look.
