Very tacky along with the rest of the back packs, minus the Buster and maybe the gale.

Fans outside Japan are not going to like this news one bit I believe. ^^;

PG 00 Raiser, with special display base included has been given a 37% discount on Amazon Japan.

http://i38.tinypic.com/9rodch.jpg

The regular price as we know it is 26,250 Yen with tax, it's now 16,533 Yen after discount, less than the price of PG Astray Red Frame. ^^;

Other websites like Amiami and Happinet Online give 30% discount for this kit, which is the more "normal" amount of discount. Hobby Shop Digitamin tags 33% discount on it (17,500 Yen), but so far, Amazon Japan's price is the lowest.

(Big-time) Unfortunately for fans outside Japan, the websites mentioned do not ship internationally. ^^;

While websites in Japan are having a lot of fun slashing the price for this upcoming PG, fans outside Japan must be looking on with very envious eyes ^^;

It's time to know some friends in Japan XD
great..... :uhoh:

vektar 2009-09-29 23:47

amazon japan dose ship some stuff world wide, ive seen a few 00 blu rays that they will shop to the states.

HiddenMessage 2009-09-29 23:50

"Shipping: We're sorry; this item can not be shipped outside Japan" as listed on amazon is killing me. : \

Amber.Dawn 2009-09-29 23:51

Hmm, for a guy that buys models at hobby shops as opposed to online, this is insulting....

Rising Dragon 2009-09-29 23:52

Japan certainly likes to shaft people on certain extremely-desired exports, doesn't it?

GN0010 Nosferatu 2009-09-29 23:58

They sure do.

*looks at the ever-growing pile of foaming fans of various franchises at the limited Tamashii Web Shop items*

Ya I would say they do. Some of them at least.

Shops in Japan often have discounts on gunpla up to 30%, even for newly released items after a few weeks. The 37% discount isn't something the locals would be excited about since it's just about the norm for them.

Nothing much to ponder for the rest of us really, since it was never privy to us in the first place.

Okamidum 2009-09-30 00:58

Great....more out of our pockets. We'd have to pay for shipping anyway if we were able to get it.

Not really. You need to understand that the hobby market is extremly competitive in Japan. What those retailers are doing is cutting off their profit margins in a bid to attract cosumers into buying from them. It's the same in Hong Kong and Taiwan too. The likewise cannot be said for Europe and America, that's why online retailers like HLJ and some others dare to price them according to the Japanese Retail Price.

What I suggest is perhaps one of you guys should try to set up an online store, buy direct from Bandai and sell them at a non-profit wholesale price to give those online vulture a run for their money.

Rising Dragon 2009-09-30 01:56

I wasn't talking about the hobby market exclusively, actually. We tend to get screwed out of a lot of good video games released only in Japan, for example. I can understand the reasoning behind a lot of it, such as what you said about the hobby market, and things like the licensing issues in games like Super Robot Wars.

But it doesn't make it suck any less for those of us who are incapable of getting it directly.

Scavenger 2009-09-30 05:32

I was trying to preorder it at Amazon.co.jp, but I don't have a phonenumber in Japan yet. I get my Alien Registration Certificate later in October so I can't buy a cellphone yet. Bah.

EDIT: Nvm, succeeded now. Cheap PG 00 Raiser for me!

Tormenk 2009-09-30 21:16

HG Masurao's for December, with revamped design and more joints. Nothing for November yet for the HG00 line.

Still no news of December's MG, which is awfully late given the past trends.

yusawateva 2009-09-30 21:37

for the quebeley MK-II
will it be like a version two design or just recolored of the old one?

Tormenk 2009-09-30 22:10

It's a recolor.

MG Qubeley is a fine design already imo. It would be nice if it gets a 2.0 but no great loss if it doesn't.

/cue usual comments across the interwebz about old models getting 2.0 where a dozen more aren't even featured yet.

You forgot the movie.

Errr... HG Masurao? Since when?

Silly Bandai... Give us a HG Alvaaron/Gaga already!

kakakka 2009-10-01 02:22

Not interested in the Movie Gundams. I might not even like them, :heh:

And then some of the side-story suits, like the GRM Gundam.

If they are feeling generous, that is...
