HGUC Geara Doga

A pic from the latest Bandai Hobby Sales Manual circulating around confirms an HGUC Geara Doga for November at a price of 1,800 yen. Anime snapshots shown indicate the uncolored prototype will be the mass-production green color and it'll come with standard and commander-type heads.

Lol. The B-3 never seen large scale production and was only assigned to a number of Ace Pilots, so it cannot be refer to being a lowly Grunt suit.

LoweGear 2008-08-30 04:37

The HG / HGUC line seems to be going the MG treatment of having optional interchangable heads, which is at least better than the old method of shipping a different head in another kit...

With that aspect comes a price of footing out a wee bit for the entire kit.

I've noticed that the Geara kit does not comes with the alternative design for the Beam Machine Gun. Perhaps Bandai is reserving that for a future release of the alternate coloured Schnyder's Geara.

MakubeX2 2008-08-30 05:06

First look at the coloured MG IJ :-

I know that. The point is, Geara Dogas aren't that great.

LightningZERO 2008-08-30 08:50

LOL. Even the BB version has the shield!

I just love the design for it down-to-earth simplicity featuring no over the top weaponaries (huge guns, big swords, etc) but just enough fire powers to get their job done.

They're like Zakus, only sleeker.

And they have those cool grenades on their shields.

Critias 2008-08-30 15:18

MG IJ looks great, much more proportional than its 1/100 counterpart. The kick angle seems awkward though. TBH, Gundams were never meant to pull off the kicks IJ did in Destiny :heh:

Well, I remember Kamille performing the comet kick in Zeta the movie and it was just so natural :] It happens that each time I see a Gundam performing a kick, like Mk-II or IJ, it is so damn well animated... So kinda cool. I am already prepared for the event and I am saving my HG Destiny for the upcoming IJ. Then I can detach the arms like in the series etc. without even touching my precious Destiny MG :D

beamknight87 2008-08-30 19:05

so we can finally get IJ kicking Destiny's ass literally... awesome!

That brings up a good question. What are the rest of you guys gonna do with your 1/100s if you buy the MG version (i.e. upcoming Infinite Justice should you DO buy it)? Keep yours around, or make 'em the damaged versions like Sir Dearka's gonna do (which is actually a good idea)?

InuKun 2008-08-30 22:14

I think i'll give mine away to someone who wants it or just leave it somewhere it can catch dust. Mine is all painted and stuff, but I will be happy to finally have a MG Athrun gundam and hope they make a Aegis/Saviour afterwards, an MG Justice could easily be the next Athrun suit though since it's quite similar frame-wise as IJ. :)

SolRahlX 2008-08-31 01:29

Hello, I've been lurking around here for the past couple of weeks and have finally brought myself to ask a question.

I've been using Tamyia and Testors pants for my models, but I've just been wanting to try the Gundam Markers for Gundam 00 just to have a set and try it out since I recieved my Avalanche Exia about a month ago. The problem is EVERYWHERE I look they are sold out.... Even Ebay. I've just been wondering if anyone here knows of a place that might still have some in stock.

Thanks in advance.

The MG IJ looks great!, it looks like it doesn't comes with a display stand....Well have to buy a action base then....

So today I'm thinking of picking up either the MG Shin Musha or the MG Impulse, but I had a question before I start anything. I was wondering if it's easier and better to paint the parts individually or just build the whole thing then paint it. I'm obviously no pro, which is why I'm asking the pros.

Rising Dragon 2008-08-31 13:04

... why are you people talking about getting rid of your MG models?

Nobody's getting rid of their MGs. We're talking about HG versions and what one could do with them when one gets a MG version of the same mobile suit.

That would depend on the specific piece and how it is positioned on the completed model.
If you're painting only details, then you can either do it once the model is complete, or before cutting it off the sprue.

Thanks for the advice, but what exactly do you mean by "painting only details"? Isn't detailing the whole point of painting anyway?

Oh, okay then. Still seems kind of dumb to get rid of your High Grades just because the Master Grades are out. Why get rid of something you put time, effort, and money in? Better to mod them or leave them as is instead of getting rid of them.

Yeah, that's why I said that I'll used my HG to reproduce the damaged Destiny when it clashes with a kicking IJ.

MeesesGlokmah 2008-08-31 19:44

Quick noob question! Is clear paint lacquer the same as a paint sealer? If not, can it be used the same way?

JackRydden224 2008-09-01 00:30

How good are Gundam markers? My current living situation doesn't allow painting and such I would like to look into other options.

Thanks

theOtherGuy 2008-09-01 01:41

Ok, I know there's Rainbow Ten and then Hobby Link Japan cost slightly more. Are there any sites ever cheaper (not eBay or any similar "auction" sites) than those two with reasonable shipping?
