Just finished Saviour.
Bought it a while ago, but never got the chance to do it :heh: http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/8...2126tc7.th.jpg http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/2596/img2118rn4.th.jpg |

http://img131.imageshack.us/img131/1...4058a9dqh0.jpg Seems that they are giving the small catalog away with the normal edition too. Saying that, the only things good about the booklet are the last 2 pages. |
lol @SF at lower right, it seems like with its saber swing theres a good chance of cutting its own left wing off.

I just built a 1989 era Rick Dom II
I'm wondering if it was a mistake to take it out of the original shrink wrap [ antique value ] |

Could this be it ? The long delayed redesign of Epyon ? |
is that official? I dunno, it loses the menacing spikiness and overall badass look of the Okawara Epyon. Right now it looks like.... Athrun Zala use.
|
That looked like a mix between Virtual On, Athrun Zala, Epyon and Super Robot Wars.
Yeah, that must be it. - Tak |
Why is the red so pale? I noticed that a lot of red colored Gundam models kits have a really pale red like the Saviour, Justice, and Infinite Justice kits.

I cannot read Japaneese, so I hope I am correct in assuming that we'll see a MG Destiny according to the Showdown pics.
|
Actually, thats just a bonus poster included in the special edition of the MG Freedom.
Although the idea of a MG Destiny isn't bad. - Tak |
Well, looks like the MG Destiny isn't too far away now.. they better have a special version that has the WoL attachments. :D
Edit: Oh crap, that's the poster? I was expecting some nice artwork of Strike Freedom.. not a big advertisement showing off all the features of the special version. Bah! :( Quote:

Ok so hi, complete nooby to the custom modeling scene. Though after looking through this thread I so want to now.
So a few questions, like is it the paint or is there a technique to geting the non-glossy look on the models? Also I have never worked with poxy or what ever I see get used on alot of the models to fully customize them with is it hard? And does any one have like a link to a walk through of custom modeling or working with poxy that is in english? My goal is I love this custom http://www.geocities.jp/kxm3002/DESTINY01.htm but I can see ALOT of poxy which I'm obviously not ready for yet but the backpack on it isn't included in the base model of the 1/100 box kit any idea where its from cause it adds so much to the look of the model. Many thanks in advance for any one who is willing to help a new guy out. Also any suggestions on a few good starter models to customize that look good? I have like 15 models completed from factory box no customizations but most of them are 144 which I would rather just buy a few 100s to make them look awesome and of a good size to display. |
Know whats really frightning about that destiny its the HG 1/144 wow thats amazing detail for such a small model.Props to the modeler.
|
hey ppl. i hav had this blitz gundam 1:144 model for a long time. hadnt bothered to post it cause paint job was bad. some movement in the legs (bak and forth) and basic arm movement, detachable claw and sheild and i can change position of claw by changing the claw itself. basically its nothing special as far as posability goes.
had to paint this much cause it came with blue/greyish plastic http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9...tzfrontsn1.jpg http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/3...tzback1ah1.jpg recently got a purple paint and fine paint brush and got this result http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/1...tzback2ux4.jpg http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/2...tzfrontoz3.jpg wat do u think, im hav no particular ability to paint extremely well but it turned out pretty good imo and ya camera i used wasnt too good that or i just had model too close to camera itself |
not bad looks better wit the purple on there.

So I have never done a master grade or custimized before, so I have been shoping for a model to start with. The ones that caught my eye were GP-02A from 0083, FAZZ full armor, IWSP, and the sazabi. All of which are kinda exspencive compaired to the 1/144s and the gundam X 1/100s I have already. Any sugestions on either of those four that one should stand out?
|
GP-02A: It's the level of older MGs which is made of not-so-good posability. The only good thing about it is that it looks sort of awesome.
FAZZ: Assuming you are talking about the Gundam Sentinel version (aka grey + white instead of traditional Gundam colours), it is a rather complex kit (a lot of stuff), with some of the posability hindered by the armor system itself. Despite the canon version is implied to be untransformable, this one can transform into the G-Fortress like the ZZ Gundam, but the armor have to be removed first. Plus points is that it is the best proportioned (and stable) of the ZZs, hence it can stand without really falling. IWSP: The newest kit of the ones you have in mind, it is basically a Strike Gundam with the IWSP. IMHO it was quite good, but of course, being the newest out of the lot helps (although the original MG Strike Gundam was released in 2003). Plenty of stuff to play with, and if you have a MG Strike Rouge (which I think you don't have), you can toy with it. Sazabi: One word: large. Quite complicated by the looks of it. Being one of the largest MGs (Perfect Zeong exceeds that), it commands quite a price. Well, clicking the links will allow you to judge by yourself. And yes, anyone is free to correct me. IMHO the IWSP would be the simplest of the lot, but I would suggest a Aile Strike if you are just starting out on MGs (not to say that you can't do a more complecated kit, since I myself started out on a Zeta Plus, in other words something more complicated >.>). |
Well the iwsp will have the best mobility and posablity cuz its one of the latest frame designs. The sazabi and the Gp02 r the oldest of the 4 u mentioned and are bulky and kinda stiff but look awsome the have the most parts. the fazz is a bit annoying wit its hyper mega cannon its off balences teh model making it a pain to pose. The Gp02 is an awsome kit it has issuses holding its shield cuz its so damn heavy and its arm design aint so great at all. The kit itself look just amazing when its done tho its gimicks outweigh its problems. If u want a really nice first mastergrade kit that will be nice i would go wit the iwsp first but deff get the rest along the way they r worth it.

Also, out of the 4, IWSP could be the cheapest.

Looks big.

Wow, that box is almost PG size.. shipping is definitely going to suck, especially since you can't fit it in a SAL SP.
And correct me if I'm wrong here, but the Full Burst version includes two stands, and two internal frames? Talk about excess.. I hope I'm wrong though. |
The box is the same as those used for the 1/60 SF and those PG kits.
And yes, it had been known for a while now that the Full Burst release included the normal internal frame along with the gold plated ones. And they also include the action base along with the normal stand. A case of redundancy when it's obvious that those who choose to get the Full Burst are aiming for the gold plating and the action base. PS :- Bandai is obviously digging at something here with the Gunplan A booklet..... |

And as to how one manage to snatch the kit fast, well, we are in the Internet and there are people residing in East Asia here. You might also like to know that there are merchants who have recieve the kit 2-3 days earlier and some of them are profit driven enough to make an unauthorise early release. |

Whatever (I care not about all the hate and such), but I'll be checking the shops here to see whether they have it or not.

And speaking of MG Hi-Nu, it's apparently due out this February with a pricetag of 7,350 yen according to Gunota. I love the Hi-Nu, but I'm going to wait until I see some prototypes before making a decision. I don't want to waste money on a "thin" Hi-Nu as people have been calling it. |

http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q...ishi1128/4.jpg It's looks good from a different angle. And no, no price tag yet. |
IS DIS SUM CRAPPILY REDESIGNED MASTER GRADE HI-NU PROTOTYPE?
http://www.hobbyfanatics.com/index.p...=post&id=16869 In the words of Darth Vader, DO NOT WANT. |
According to Gunota, Hi-Nu retails for 7,350 yen.
And it looks better than the lineart suggests at least. |
I see where Gunota gets their release dates and price now :-
http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4...5713ks0.th.jpg It looks good in this scan. Other Model News :- http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/8...8587kl5.th.jpg |
HOLY COW... I love what they did to the GP02A, daddy likes XD

Certainly looks better than the lineart, but I don't like the various changes they've made.. like the color change of the fin funnels.
And where the hell did this GP02 come from? Never seen that design before, although it looks interesting. |
