MG Gelgoog 2.0 should be interesting.

MakubeX2 2007-03-21 04:17

So MG.98 will be Char's Zaku Ver 2.0, MG.99 Char's Gelgoog Ver 2.0.

http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/6...73bygafin5.jpg

Suddenly the possibility of another version of the RX-78 for the 100th MG releases just seem a lot higher.....

mangatron 2007-03-21 08:40

See, I knew that there would be both a green and a Char's Zaku II Ver 2.0, and both counting towards the 100th MG count no less.:heh:

Who was it that told me recolours don't count? :heh: :heh:

(Ok I understand it's got a crane too, but still, a recolour is a recolour, albeit with different boosters probably :heh: )

JackRydden224 2007-03-21 13:11

I hope Char's Gelgoog 2.0 would be the one from CDA....

Let's not kid ourselves, 95% of us knew that the 100th MG was going to be the Rx-78...

LoweGear 2007-03-21 13:16

I SOOOOOO predicted the HGUC Ground Type didn't I? Well, it's very good news nonetheless.

The HCMPro Destroy though? Now that is a surprise O_O I wonder how large that thing will be...

Sorry for bringing this up again,
anyone know what were the flaws for Zeta v 2.0 according to Dalong's review? Just curious..anything significant?

I think Dalong was pointing out that foot job, the part where the Zeta's sole wouldn't match the rest of his foot on a level surface :heh: :heh:

:uhoh: Ok, so tell me who wouldn't have thought the 100th MG might be a R-78? :heh::heh:

Everyone thought that, man! It's like saying the first MG would be the RX-78! It's like saying the first PG would be the RX-78! It's like...:heh: :heh:

On a side note, the only way to make this special is to make a massive RX-78 MG pack. That is, include the RX-78, 3, 4, 5, G, Super and whatever other incarnation of the RX-78 there ever was! And of course, use the most modern engineering of inner frame one can possibly fit into the RX-78 (Hi-Nu engineering).

An odd thought occurred to me. I said earlier that it would be nice if all the old MG's would be ver 2.0'ed. With the announcement of that Gelgooger I kinda laughed at how much more possible it actually is :heh:

DarkWarrior 2007-03-21 18:25

I didn't expect Char's Zaku II this early.. and it looks like Bandai is including a ton of junk which somehow increases the price to 4500 yen. Seriously, a loading crane?

And the chances for a MG Destiny just got a lot lower I guess. :(

philmein 2007-03-21 18:47

Thanks for the info mangatron. It really seems nothing to worry about. If nothing is loose, then I'm cool with it. Any loose parts are what worries me most for any kits.

Anyways, I'd vote for an MG Destiny over the RX-78. For some reason it doesn't appeal to me.

Fome 2007-03-21 19:12

That's because the RX-78 isn't exactly a beautiful design, by today's standards. Rather blocky and rigid looking compared to modern designs. But it's got sentimental significance to many fans, so Bandai probably won't pass it up.

So true, so true. Sentimental significance is very important ^^.

Nightengale 2007-03-21 22:30

There's always RX-78 ver. Evolve.

dj898 2007-03-21 23:31

another possibility is MG Turn A Gundam...
if the rumour is anything to go by... -___-;;

kct 2007-03-22 00:26

WHO NO MENTION OF THE NIGHTINGALE?

Seeing that we are seeing Char and RED (the colour of 3x faster)...

silencer.001 2007-03-22 04:10

I doubt the Turn A would be the 100th MG, i, and a few others, think it might actually be the Hyakushiki, but i am not discounting yet another RX-78 gundam

J_Ridden 2007-03-22 04:12

Well I don't care about the 100th release anymore. I just hope that after that, they'll release more non-UC Gundam (at least the rest of the Shuffle Alliance's Gundam, Gundam X, Leopard and Airmaster, Turn A, etc.) or more non-Gundam MS from CE (GuAIZ, DINN, Windam, etc.).

012Zer0 2007-03-22 08:08

The 100th MG might be the Char's gelgoog 2.0 which is estimated for July. Unless something comes before that.

MakubeX2 2007-03-22 08:25

Update :-

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/8...2410742rh1.jpg

Char's Zaku Vers 2.0 will not cost 4500 yen, but still 3500 yen. It's Char's Gel that will be 4500 yen.

Another possibiluty that is BD choose to continue it's campaign of colouring the town RED, we might have the Nightengale.....

duotiga 2007-03-22 09:10

Char's Gelgoog is officially the 99th MG, so the 100th is still up in the air at the moment.

the sad fact is as far as Bandai is concerned UC kits sells. The majority of MG buyers in Japan are males in their 30-40 and for them Gundam = UC. To much of Bandai's dismay non-UC inc. Seen did surprisingly well in the area other than gunpla. Apparently very high number of females buy Seed related merchandises but not the gunpla.

The main market of Gunpla as far as Bandai is concerned is Japan and foreign market still factors in tiny numbers so till the foreign market sales becomes some formidable numbers you can bet your dollar that Bandai won't do much of non UC with more expensive line ups like MG and PG other than some key main mechas from non-UC.

Oh nice, so that price thing was a mistake on Gunota's part. Well, at least the price is the same.. even though I still find the loading crane odd. I'm definitely getting one when it comes out.

And for the 100th, I see two possible things.

1. Another RX-78, as everyone pointed out. The OYW version is fairly recent, but that was based off some PS2 game. It had odd colors (pink..), no core fighter, and excessive panel lines. The 100th is a perfect chance for Bandai to update the RX-78 with the latest frame technology, possibly combined with some extras. And didn't the Bandai release a recolored RX-78 during the MG 10th Anniversary?

2. In continuing with the trend, another one of Char's MS. Nightengale perhaps?

Personally, I find #1 much more likely. Of course, Bandai could completely surprise everyone with something unexpected, but I doubt it. Of course, this is pure speculation on my part.

aikming 2007-03-22 20:56

I was hoping for MG Akatsuki full pack instead of normal 1/100 Akatsuki full pack... :(

You know, it wouldn't be so expensive. Why not just remove the undergate and banana-ize it HyakuBallute style, then it won't be so costly :heh: :heh:

(I mean, if Undegating was simple/cheap, we woud have our MG ver 2.0's in undergate style :heh: )

wavehawk 2007-03-24 03:34

I'm still waiting, Bandai. I'm still waiting for the MG F90 you guys previewed when the MG F91 was previewed. I am still waiting!!!!

Read my lips, Bandai:
90 = 100

Release the MG F90 with four of it's best packs (Assault, Destroy, VSBR, and Long-Range) NOW. I want it. I have been waiting for it since seeing your F90 sample, If you had absolutely no plans of releasing a MG F90, you should never have displayed a prototype.

Oh, BTW: An HGUC TR-6 WoundWort from the Advance of Zeta series would be another one to want. Anyone here have the May Dengeki Hobby? The Tr-6 is GORGEOUS in lineart...

duotiga 2007-03-24 05:10

Master Grade No.100 Countdown
With the 98th (Char's Zaku II ver 2.0) and 99th (Char's Gelgoog ver 2.0) MG kits announced, the "MG No.100 Countdown" campaign is now underway. Sponsored by Gundam Ace, Dengeki Hobby Magazine, and Hobby Japan Magazine, readers can submit their guesses as to what the 100th will be on a postcard that comes with each issue. Bandai will randomly give away 100 gold-plated versions of the 100th MG kit to contestants with the correct MS.

The 100th MG will be announced at the Shizuoka Hobby Show (May 17-20th).

aeriolewinters 2007-03-24 05:19

It's an RX-78 no more, no less... believe me...

LoweGear 2007-03-24 07:57

Thankfully at least, the fact that they'll release a Gold Plated version of the kit throws the MG Hyaku-Shiki Ver. 2.0 possibility out the window.

Only two more months before the revelation of the 100th... damn the wait...

Of course I knew it's the Oowashi pack....:heh:

For Bandai to have a contest to giveaway 100 of those gold plated 100th MG's... there must be some reason other than the number why only 100 lol...

I guess my proposition of the RX-78 incarnations combo pack might be true...but of course I want something else....well, what else could there be...I mean on a commercial and marketing standpoint :heh:

Strike Gundam + I.W.S.P. or Strike Noir MG

Hi,

I am interested in purchasing the Strike Gundam + I.W.S.P. MG released last year but I'm also interested in obtaining the Strike Noir MG. Alas, I can only afford one so my question is, which is the preferred model to get?

Well, I would say go to http://www.dalong.net/ and see both of the kits and decide from there, but ultimately it boils down to which Strike you prefer. If you liked the Stargazer series, Noir is a good choice, with enough weapons to rival the IWSP. Although, if you're a classic Strike fan IWSP would be great, with enough firepower to drain it's built-in batteries real quick :heh:

Although, I wouldn't know. I seem to like everything these days...this is what happens when one collects anime girl figures as if they are part of the food pyramid :heh:

If you don't have it already, get Aile Strike Gundam instead.
Otherwise, get the Noir.
