Didn't they already adapt the ending as an OVA? Is this just so they can adapt the full series :confused:?

Can't believe this trash got a sequel after the drag the manga was, guess the author really put his own money as some japanese boards claimed.

Even after it ended and got some chapters time to time, I still can't fathom the Aki wank the author forces with the illustrator who obviously, entirely carried the manga. It's textbook example of milking, baiting with other girls, then when the dust settled, doubling down with the shitty main heroine barely anyone gave a damn about.

The OVA wasn't the ending it was an afterstory... they actually did a few afterstories including a "Rental Boyfriend" oneshot a little more than a year ago.

I was a bit puzzled by the season 3 April fool's before the announcement but I actually loved the series so I'm excited to see more of it.

And I even liked the main girl so I should be able to just enjoy the ride and how this is going to play out. At least I presume that from the types of comments I'm seeing about the sequel.

Looking at how popular Kanojo Okarishimasu, I guess this series making a comeback is sensible enough.

It seems the concept of April's fools has changed in Japan. Two second season announcements that should have been obvious jokes turned out to be real.

At least we know when this is coming now. I'll probably have fun with it.

Our favorite hammy muscle-nut Natsuki Hanae character is back! Masamune Makabe is still as determined as ever to make Aki fall for him and then break her heart as part of his revenge plot, while she seems to be reflecting on the past on her own terms. And they're carrying both those feelings into a trip to France, the land of romance :eyespin:!

The new OP is pretty on-point for this series with a lot of lively visuals and showcase of the entire cast, complete with a fun and energetic song. Seems like the Masamune/Yoshino/Aki relationship will be central to this season :eek:.

You know you're in a school for rich kids when you get to fly off to France. I can't tell who is more hyped, Kojuuro or Futaba :p.

It is kind of a big deal that Aki would go out of her way to talk to Masamune, seemingly with the intention of clarifying their relationship, purely of her own volition...too bad their trip gets hijacked by a French Otaku girl named Muriel voiced by Miku Ito who is aiming to become a romcom mangaka and needs inspiration from actual Japanese high schoolers to deliver. And her influential brother isn't going to let our main pair get out of helping his sister :uhoh:.

Yoshino seemed to enjoy fist-bumping Masamune in a way that felt a tad less platonic :eyebrow:.

Kojuuro is still crushing on Neko (who wouldn't?) but she's still hung up on Masamune, even though she feels like he's heading for the same kind of heartbreak she went through when he rejected her. If only he had given up his revenge plan and went full speed into the Neko route :T_T:!

Wait, Kanetsugu is a girl!? And she's been binding her chest the whole time!? She's so desperate for money she's willing to lie about everything, including her gender, to get with Aki? I honestly didn't see that coming :twitch:.

Is Muriel going to steal a kiss from Masamune? Seems like it's definitely heading in that direction ;).

I see that Masamune subscribes to the Heisei Era romcom logic of having to tease out the couple for 80% of the story before they get together, because that's just how the Japanese roll, while Muriel believes in Reiwa supremacy. Maybe she can spice things up between Masamune and Aki :innocent:?

Yikes! Kanetsugu knows Yoshino is working with Masamune to sabotage her! This can't end well :eek:.

It wouldn't be Masamune-kun without a ChouCho ending! And it's a very pleasant ED mostly focused on Aki, but that scene of her at the end facing Masamune at the beach and looking at him with such love on her face felt very romantic :smile:.

Its back! With some great advice for up and coming romcom mangaka -- tease until you can tease no more!

Back when I read the manga, I thought this was one of the better harem series around because the writing is pretty tight and there are no characters that made me go "Why are you here; you're useless; you're annoying" "you should die". There were no situations that made me go "Well, that was in bad taste". There weren't even ones that made me go "man, so boring".

I just binge-watched the first season again so I could watch this new season. I'm still rather shocked this day actually arrived. I thought the announcement last year was an April Fool's joke!!

So how did season 1 age?
Really well, tbh it's still a pretty entertaining series, largely thanks to Masamune's hilarious personality and Hanae Natsuki-san giving his 120% effort into the performance. Though since I just finished Demon Slayer's new season, it's so hard not to hear Tanjirou every time Masamune screams. :heh:

But honestly, I still like all the side characters too. Muriel's design is so cute with her hat and eyepatch and her 'cringe-otaku' personality. Gawd, she even says "de gozaru"...the second-hand embarrassment is real. :heh:

With much of the cast sneaking around, lying, and scheming against one another, it keeps the series quite interesting. Now Gasou's secret has been revealed (if you didn't know it before). I don't remember what happens next but I'll be looking forward to each week's episode for sure.
