From what I see, this is another case of Extra Finish Version.

2 version of the same kit, but one is more bling bling than the other. And Bandai will still reissue both from season to season if both version of the kit sells well.

SNT1 2006-11-23 15:27

I can understand this---the damned thing sold out (almost like them consoles) pretty quickly on pre-orders. Bandai struck gold, and now they're milking it.

Can we say, in a polite way, seems that Bandai is getting lazy ?

nineplay 2006-11-24 12:43

nice nice I want that MG SF but I missed the preorder. Anyway anyone have the boxart for the first edition Legends the one with the stand. I have found some on ebay but I donīt want any chineese copys of it or something since there is like three different box arts on it on ebay.

mm is that the special stand? it just the action base with a few plastic pipes where the dragoons can fit on.......

LoweGear 2006-11-24 14:28

Looking closely, the presentation makes me think that since they have yet to recieve the Special Options parts, they just made the pic to show the compatibility of the SF with the Action Stand.

We know there'll be a true custom base for the S Freedom as shown in previous lineart, just that no one's seen it for real as of yet.

Derringer 2006-11-24 18:39

Those parts look REALLY bad.

I was almost laughing myself when I saw it. Those can't be the special options, or at least not all of it.

Murphy's Laws of Gundam Modelling...

Previously posted on another forum (by me). Seeing how distraught I am that Bandai finally released a BETTER version of the Crossbone...this has to be put up:

(Wes) Murphy's Laws of GunPla Modelling:
  • There is no such thing as two perfectly fitting parts.
  • Dropped parts will always land freshly-painted side down.
  • You only need to sneeze or scratch an itch the very moment you're using tweezers to mount joints on your Master Grade.
  • Add-on detail parts for your mobile suit will always cost 3-5 times more than the original kit.
  • You learn that Caffeine and model kit detailing do not mix. The hard way.
  • Gunze Sangyo's "Easy to Use" Gundam Markers...aren't.
  • Gunze Sangyo's "Professional Quality" Gundam Paints...aren't.
  • White is the hardest color to paint properly on a model kit. And Gundams just happen to come in a thousand subtly different shades of white.
  • Despite the box labels, GunPla are NEVER to scale.
  • The only insect in your entire house ALWAYS decides to park right on top of your kit just as the paint dries.
  • Law of Inverse Multiplicity (circa 1990 and later): The more numerous a mobile suit is in a Gundam series, the fewer models of it will be made.
  • Corollary #1: And more often than not, kits of mass-production MS are more expensive than those of the Gundams.
  • Corollary #2: Conversely, the rarer a mobile suit is in a Gundam series, the more models of it are produced. 90% of all Gundam models ever made are of the Gundams themselves.
  • Corollary #3: And at least half again of those produced are color variations of the same model.
  • Corollary #4 (AKA The Law of Inverse Demand): The more longtime Gunpla fans want a particular mass-production or special-use mobile suit made into a model, the less chances there are of it ever being produced.
  • Law of Inverse Craptacularity: The uglier a mobile suit model kit is, the better it will look after kitbashing.
  • Law of Purchased Product Improvement: Bandai only releases new and improved versions of their GunPla kits right after you've bought the old one.
  • Law of Eternal Competition: There will ALWAYS be someone out there who will top your modelling work.

Damn words taken right outa my mouth lol !

Law of Purchased Product Improvement: Bandai only releases new and improved versions of their GunPla kits right after you've bought the old one.

Thats so true its disturbing im all for more models im an addict but its not ok (or right...) when they jack it up 40 plus dollers just for a new weapon and a set of wings.

Demongod86 2006-11-25 01:45

Law of Inverse Craptacularity is false. Turn A no matter how kitbashed it is will ALWAYS be ugly.

Actually, it's made of lose.
For those that bought the Xbone ver ka anyway, LOL

SNT1 2006-11-25 02:38

It just gives me more of a reason to build all X-bone variants. Im getting more infatuated at it everyday.

Gundam goes Pocky

Bandai and Glico jointly announced the Pocky Gunpla Packs, three varieties of specially-marked packages of Pocky which come with 1/144 scale Gunpla: gokuboso (ultra-thin) chocolate + RX-78-2 Gundam, regular chocolate + Char's Zaku II, and Men's bitter chocolate + mass-production Zaku II. OMG... I hope they're still there when I go to Japan on the 19th. O_o

Anyway, another Crossbone...? Screw it, I'm down for another one. =D

Derringer 2006-11-25 13:00

Well, we can assume that each Crossbone kit will have features that the other kits don't have, forcing you to buy them or scratch build stuff =D
