Truth be told, I've actually enjoyed episode 1(subbed) for all the wrong reasons. I was actually crying with laughter watching it.

If we rank this anime for a scale of -10(worst) to 10(best), it will break -10 and go straight to 20. This anime is the epitome of the saying "It's so bad, it's good." Heck, it's so awful, IT'S AWESOME!!

I'm so watching it ... LOL. Seriously, though, they made it look bad so that it could be funny, or they really didn't want it to look bad at all, it just was?

I watched some clips from the show; I can't believe people actually make this stuff anymore. I thought digital animation reduced the time needed to make shows so people could spend more time, but I guess the result was that producers just lessened production time even further.

This is 1000000x worse than Negima ever was, really :heh: It's really so so so bad that like others said, it's just flatout hilarious. WTF?


Why the hell did they even make this?!! I wonder what was in their minds... It's things like these that leave you thankful even for the crap episodes of series you watch, almost.

But I guess it really is funny mostly because everyone makes fun of it at the same time. Couldn't help chuckle when I came across the infamous and (as of recent) oft-repeated "Oh!! Mabushi!!" line. Teehee...

Do you really think you could make something as bad as Musashi inadvertently? No, this is clearly some kind of devious marketing plan. A marketing plan that actually seems to be working, as the show has already gotten somewhat of a cult following. It's so bad, it's good!

How popular is this in Japan?

So first it's Haruhi, and now it's Musashi. Two sides of the same coin - slick advertising campaigns to the point that you can't tell what is a ploy by the staff and what isn't! They're playing with our minds!! O NOS.

Think of the hours they spent planning it to be intentionally crappy. The scriptwriter is a genius! He's created a line that won't be forgotten for a long long time. Or maybe a few.... sugee, ano jii-san, ochinagara tatakatteru

It's literally so bad that it becomes hilarious. Miyamoto Musashi was a legendary swordsman, known for his skill with the blade. But for the anime, Musashi is a samurai that is skilled in using guns... it just doesn't get more silly than that.

Japan doesn't necessarily dwell on smart stuff, do they? They seem to dote on either a new take on something very lame (Haruhi), or something very lame itself (Musashi). I'm watching the first episode right now ... but it's funny: geniuses cater to dumbness. :)

It was so godawful, it was awesome. I thought it broke the world's record for most corny anime cliches ever - seriously, though - what the hell was that? I laughed at the OP, through the fight scenes, and with the ED.

The most amazing thing about Musashi is by far the OP. It's just....I can't even find the words to describe it.

For me I enjoyed the whole episode regardless of odd background animation.I think it shows how much ppl are longing for shounen with a decent storyline with verity of characters.The story telling is fast, that's how a shonen series should be,entertaining.

The character I like most in the first episode is Rounin.I watched on youtube first while I was getting it and I mistaken his sword as light-saber and I thought this was a prank show.I was wrong, it's a sword burning in fire.

I've only watched one subbed episode, the others have all been raws. I don't really care thought, because it's still utterly hilarious. Words cannot adequately describe how bad this show is. It's like there trying to be serious with the crappiest kinds of animation. And yet, Monkey Punch knows what he's doing.:eyespin:

The only thing I hate about this anime is how Musashi is drawn, he looks so terrible.
To be honest. I just hate his face.

I saw the opening and a few select clips of Musashi from Youtube when people posted about it at 4chan, because I was curious. I thought it was amusingly horrible, like other's impressions above. But now, after viewing the subbed first episode, I'm starting to be more convinced that this anime is deliberately constructed to be like this as Cruzz said. From the preposterous premise (gun samurais? :eyebrow: ), to the appallingly crappy animation, to the shoddy execution, all elements of this show is so low par that it's nearly impossible to take it seriously. Is this show simply a congregation of the bad of the bad of every component of an anime, or was it purposely crafted by somebody's vision/reason? The latter seems more likely. That Musashi face in the first post has long since became a meme at 4chan.
