I'm actually from Hong Kong but currently live and work in UK. London to be exact.

Different note. I quite like the prototype exia. I'm sure even if it's not released by Bandai someone will scratch build the mods using exia's base frame to make the prototype model. Doesn't look too awfully hard to replicate. Just matter of who likes it enough to make one. Matter of time really.

Nerroth 2009-04-18 12:55

I hope the MG Exia will give the option to assemble it as the R2 - but on the other hand, it would not surprise me in the least if Bandai decide to milk the frame by selling it as a separate kit later on...

Subarunyon 2009-04-18 13:10

The Pawn looks mass producable. I dig it :D It has some resemblance to Frieza from DBZ due to the colors and face too ^^;

Amber.Dawn 2009-04-18 13:53

But it's much prettier than Frieza.
...even Turn A is prettier than Frieza.

Thinking about getting that Sinanju novel. Although, it feels like a waste to get it solely for the weapon...

vektar 2009-04-18 14:32

so the Unicorn Novel is a pure novel not a Manga? if so that sucks... Ive yet to find a translation too.

Amber.Dawn 2009-04-18 14:56

Apparently.

From the online sources I've seen, they all refered to it as a "novel", Volume 8.

JayCee 2009-04-18 16:47

As of the moment. I can confirm Gundam unicorn is only manga novel. No anime series are set for production as of the moment, but there is rumoured to be plans for a one off movie. Not sure if it'll be ova style like stardust memory or one like Char's counterattack. Just have to wait and see.

What are you talking about. Turn A is a beaut :heh:

Pawn is indeed much prettier than Frieza though. It's just the color scheme I think ;)

Well judging from the pic you posted, you have the swords on the waist wrong too. The blue part is meant to be facing the back. Which means you'll have to switch one of the parts over.

vektar 2009-04-19 16:35

site seems to be a bit dead the last few days... Anyone get any thing new built? Maybe some pics will help livin things up a bit.

Hello..ello...ello..ello
/cricket/

Well, waiting for Dalong's review on the Sword Impulse.

So, anybody want to post pics of their collection?

Dalsim007 2009-04-19 20:58

Seems like somebody needs that link...

Sword Impulse review.

Amber.Dawn 2009-04-19 23:22

Thank you.

darkstrife 2009-04-19 23:37

i'll post up my hi-nu mg once i complete it (so far only body, arms and head complete ><) as well as the rest of my collection.

in the meantime however i noticed that tamiya also stocks a 'Matt White' spraypaint (TS-27), if i use this paint would it have the same effect as using the plain white spray and then spraying it with the clear matt spray? so basically in other words, would using this paint save me the trouble of using a clear matt spray?

We'll get

MG Exia
MG Trans am Exia w/special coating
MG Exia R2
MG Trans am Exia R2 w/special coating

Amber.Dawn 2009-04-20 00:36

Special Coating: clear, translucent, silvery, metallic, gloss, designer's version....

so many possibilities

edit: I spend way too much time on here don't I?

Yes it would give you relatively the same effect. However it'll lose the benefit of a paint and decal protecting layer by going that route.

50cm in width, full transformation between MS and MA modes. Comes with its customized display base as well.

Pre-order will in Mid May. Price N/A."

i have got somehting to rival your unicorn

JayCee 2009-04-20 10:06

There's no competition here. I put the pics up only cos a user was interested in in seeing some pics a few posts back. So not sure why you used the word rival. But nice work on the 1/144 Scale build. Personally though I prefer to stay away from 1/144 builds, I find the MG builds more fun to work on.

justavisitor 2009-04-20 10:12

I would think the word "rival" means the competition of the strongest MS in UC era (within the Amuro-Char period..F91, V2 doesn't count) :heh:

Anyway, both models are great XD

JayCee 2009-04-20 10:18

Maybe misinterpretation. My apologies to the poster if that was the case. Still a good build regardless. Shame it wasn't sinaju. Was kinda hoping it was :p

CrackerJack 2009-04-20 10:43

What is this the battle of the unicorns? I'll contribute then and its no where near finished.

ryanvamp 2009-04-20 11:09

Jaycee's unicorn is really nice, which paint did you use to paint the thrusters? For me, the best paints are the ones you can use in more than one model (and silver and gold thrusters is a must).

That 1/144 Nu Gundam is just beautiful, if a little overdone with decals. Wonder how they did all that stuff (like how they make those custom decals, which top coat was used, etc)

JayCee 2009-04-20 11:21

Thanks. The metal thrusters aren't painted. They're actually metal thrusters. I had to mod the parts to make them fit. Had a bit of a problem as they were so huge compared to the normal one's in the kit.

Anyhow here's the rest of the pics I promised earlier I'd upload. Enjoy guys!

Nice banshee color scheme. Though it does give the impression the paint's pretty thick at some areas.

@Jaycee

Excellent photos, and a well-done Unicorn to boot.

Unfortunately my Sinaju is nowhere near done otherwise I'll volunteer it for a couple of poses. :p

i will post other pics of ms grade sinaju later!

Sworra 2009-04-20 12:33

Nice Unicorns JayCee and CrackerJack. One on my list to do later on, but JayCee with the metal thrusters im trying to find them as a detail package or i guess i make them on my own but have no clue where to start. Any idea's or if you did purchase them. And where?

I just finished the airbrushing on some parts on my Civilian Astray. Color i used is a Desert Yellow. With the other parts it will be Olive green and Bright Orange.

Ako creation and mechaskunk does thrusters. Search them up and you'll be able to find what you need.

Also to answer ryanvamp about general custom decals. If you don't have the printing facility to make you're own. The dude that runs "Samuel's decals" can print you custom made decals for you alongside pre-done decals on his site. Just send him images and specs how you want it done or if out of ideas can ask him to come up with something. Hope that helps.

@Kai00 Is that Sinaju your's or your friends? The gloss finish is done very well.

To be honest. I didn't have fun doing the Unicorn. The decals really was a pain in the ass. Funnily enough the dry transfers were less of a pain compared to the normal stickers that was supplied.

Are there any stores that sell gundam model kits in the Philadelphia/New Jersey/Delaware region?
