Episode 1 aired today.
It will take some time to get used to the new character design, but pacing is pretty much similar to season 1.

The character design looks alright. Last season, some characters looked like they are straight out of Dragon's Crown and Fate Stay Night.

The princess/damsal rescued from the movie Goblin's Crown is retired from her adventurer career. She switches her occupation to support, maybe a shop owner. She becomes the major sponsor the guild's training facility.

So far so good I guess but I barely remember what happened in S1 and the movie.

Animation was so bleh... the recreation of events of the s1ep1 from goblin's point of view was particularly bad; probably because I had something to compare it to. But even disregarding that, animation has certainly taken a step down unfortunately(except when GS stepped into the guild; looked specifically polished from whatever reason). Priestess is probably the only one that looks a little better, possibly due to her looking a bit more mature.

This new character kid is super annoying. Thinking about it now, I'm surprised such a archetype didn't appear in the first season(unless you count Rookie Mage that died to goblin poison). Thankfully it didn't. Anyway, this doesn't feel like Goblin Slayer like the first season, and I don't think I'm too enthused to see Annoying Kid with Priestess next episode, since this scenario is a tale as old as time; Annoying Kid stays arrogant throughout quest, Priestess saves him somehow from his own hubris, gets humbled... still probably won't make him less annoying.

Goblin Salyer looks a lot less imposing than I remember. I didn't know the studio had changed so I guess this explains it. Others look fine to me, Priestess looks more mature but I'm pretty sure that's on purpose.

New kid is annoying and I hope he dies as soon as possible.

indeed, what a way to start the season with a character like that. It hurts more since I still bitter they wasted the wizard girl at the beginning but we got this guy now.

just looking at the promo video. Animation is a downgrade. Why does Priestess look like that now? She's more beaufitul before.

Looks like they spent most of resources on OP and ED unfortunately. But I still hope for better.

I feel a bit mixed. Certainly having the Priestess lead that party would be a good way to show that she can stand on her own. But at the same time...episode 1 of last season happened! I don't trust that kid farther than I could throw him! Yes, she's definitely learned a lot having traveled alongside Goblin Slayer all this time. But unless that kid is going to seriously do exactly what she tells him that's a dangerous situation.

Of course I feel like that's putting her down. She is a good Priestess and does have experience at this point. She knows the dangers and what level of caution is required. It's just...a risky venture.

What an annoying kid. I'm sure he's got some emotional backstory and such. But he's definitely an idiot. This guy is already struggling to find people to team up with and he's going to basically all Priests in the room? Naive is putting it lightly. And his habit of lashing out defensively isn't great.

Animation does feel like a step down. But hey...at least the Elf girl is still really cute :).

It's the shoulders/chest. For some reason they look less bulky, so it makes him look less imposing.

Also, how in the every loving hell is Wizard Boy NOT the same VA as Yahiko from Rurouni Kenshin? They sound identical.

Let me refresh your memory for bit. In first season Goblin Slayer killed lot of goblins. In the movie he also killed lot of goblins.

Is it just me or the series is not available on CR anymore? I just watched S2 ep. 1 yesterday but today the series page is empty.

I just checked and it shows up for me.

I'll have to do the review and recap tomorrow.

OK, looks like it is not streamed in most of the Western Europe for some reason (only UK, Nordics and Rusian-speaking regions). I accidently watched it under my work VPN yesterday. :heh:
