This episode was pretty creepy. It seems like things are working out for the better, but there's like this underlying feeling that things won't work out at all.
Spoiler for Akasaka:
So Akasaka's wife was saved this time around, and now Rika is brimming with confidence that she can save her friends as well.

again, not guaranted to be a very accurate summary, but nevertherless ^^"
Spoiler for PART A:
Keiichi and friends (with shion, and minus Mion this time) are cleaning some stuff for the incoming Auctions for the village. Keiichi complains about this job, but the rest tries to cheer him up.
Mion arrives, but announces they will have more things to do, which depresses keiichi. Then, mion offers to everyone some Ohagi from her Grandma. Rena picks one, and gives it yo Keiichi. This triggers something to Keiichi, who wonders which one Rena did. But Rena doesn't understand what he is talking about and tells him she didn't make any of the ohagi. Keiichi and Rika are surprised. Keiichi doesn't pay attention of this afterwards, but Rika soon suspects something.
Everyone is chatting and eating happily, but Keiichi is staring at his ohagi. Rika comes to him, asking what's wrong. Keiichi tells her that he has a "deja vu feeling". Rika tells her there isn't such things, and if he remembers of something, it has happened. Keiichi doesn't quite understand this, then Rika says it happened in another world. Keiichi doesn't take it seriously, since it is a dream, but Rika insists it is okay if it is a dream. She then asks him to tell about this.
Keiichi remembers that he didn't go to school, Mion and Rena came, and give him some ohagi. Keiichi is about to stop, but rika asks him to proceed. Then Keiichi says both left, and he tried the ohagi, but on the first one... Keiichi wants to stop, and this is simply a dream, but Rika raises her voice. He then says there was a needle in it
Mion approaches him, asking if he hates ohagi, saying he shouldn't push himself if he does dislike these. Shion wonders about a prank, then Keiichi says there is no way Mion would put a needle in it. Mion is completely shocked about what he said, but keiichi just settle things by eating it. Rika is still dumbstruck.
Everyone is now in another room, cleaning other goods to sell in the auction. Suddenly, Rena turns into her omochikaeri mode, assaulting a table. Rena slips something while talking a bit, which surprises everyone. She then explains what her father is up to (the fact he was lonely since they get back in Hinamizawa etc). Rena got shocked about Rina, etc. Then, Rena talks of her dream.
Rena explains she killed that woman. Shion reacts about this.
Keiichi says it is a dream, but she replies it is a realist dream...
She wanted to think it was a dream, and explained it to Mion, Both went to the place where Rena killed Rina in Tsumihoroboshi.
Rena explained to Mion what happened, and what she felt, the way it was the thing to do, which panics her. She is almost hysteric, but Mion hugs her, and wants her to stop. She must tell the truth and feelings to her father. This puts back Rena in a complete sanity.
Rena then talked with her Father, and he understood her feelings.
She then thanks Mion for what she did.
They are almost leaving, but Rika then asks if in this case, Shion also made a weird dream. Mion explains that Shiond dreamt she killed Mion and Satoko. Both Mion and Satoko don't believe this, and she won't do such atrocities. Shion is touched of what Satoko said, and both hug.
At night, Rika asks hanyuu's opinion of everyone's dreams/memories. Rika begins to have confidence. After some talk, Rika concluded she must prevent Tomitake and Takano deaths, and the changes might affect them as well.
Spoiler for PART B:
Rika pays a visit to Irie, and ask him where are Takano and Tomitake. Irie tell him around the temple.
Rika realized they are heading for the storage room.
Takano and Tomitake try to figure out the type of Lock. Tomitake relieves her, saying it is a simply padlock. Takano is delighted, since it will be a perfect timing. Suddenly, Rika surprise them with "CURSE". Takano tries to negociate, then Rika shows her the key.
Rika is okay if they go in the storage with her, this turn Takano into a TOTAL bliss, a "omochikaeri mode" like, a very moe yet creepy sight :heh: Hanyuu can't help, but be completely stunned and her image of takano is quite... shattered with this. Rika admits she is herself surprised of this side of her.
Tomitake asks if it is really okay, then, Rika confirms, though she wants them to fulfill a promise, listening to what she has to say. Takano, completely hyper accepts right away her conditions.
as they are entering, Takano is completely in bliss, and comment everything about the tools, oyashiro etc. and finishing this is oyashiro-sama. This comment just annoys Hanyuu, who is desperately argueing this, doing a silent tantrum :heh:
Rika suddenly closes the door, and say it is a promise. and they have to talk seriously. In the night of the watanagashi, both of them will...
Back in the Irie hospital institute, Tomitake and Takano talk to Irie. Rika will be killed, and for this to happen, both Tomitake and Takano will be killed. The three of them are kinda puzzled by this, but nevertherless, Takano let the "Yamainu" in charge of this
Hanyuu wonders if both will fullfill their promise. Rika doesn't case, since she has keiichi and the rest. Then she wishes to have MORE power, to break through of this fate.
The gang are picking some items in the toy store for the auctions. Ooishi is also there, which spark some things between him and Mion. Ooishi then offer them a little gamble.(hard to get... sorry...)
He then shows them 3 dice.
Mion succed in her triple 1, and Ooishi congratulate her for her performance. they are now friendly ^^
Rika comments about Ooishi, thinking this is a very convenient world.
Someone enters in the shop, and finally found Ooishi. This person is no one else than Akasaka Mamoru! Rika is really surprised of his presence, and asks him if it is really him. Akasaka confirms, and felt it has been a long time. Mion and the rest are surprised that they are acquaintances.
Rika asks him why he comes to Hinamizawa, then Aksaka says it is to save her life.
We see a flashback that, back at that time, Akasaka believed what Rika said during Himatsubushi, and get quickly back at Tokyo, taking care of Yukie, his pregnant wife. Then, it is revealed later that a janitor feel from the stairs.
Akasaka is thankful to Rika, who is relieved as well.
Rike becomes really confident now. Hanyuu argues that Tomitake and Takano yet proved they fullfilled their promise, which can utterly betray her. Rika taunt her, and want to try it, by stomping on purpose on the punks bikers. Hanyuu is completely in panic and... These punks soon show up, but Rika is very confident. SUddenly... Janitors men (the Yamainu) appear behind them, and threaten them. They flee immediately.
on her way back, Rika asks what hanyuu thing about it : The yamainu are tailing Rika, and the driver report what is happening to Tomitake.
Rika is completely confident, has reunited the power to break that fate. However, Hanyuu isn't convinced...
Rika has no fear, and will look forward to the future.
I begin to get lot of "fanboy" vibes at this rate, but again, another impressive adaptation.
I'm just a bit disappointed they didn't emphasis Keiichi's "uber magician of worlds", since in the game, they have shown that Keiichi was asked to be the presentator and organizer of the auction. They also forgot the reason why Keiichi is so suspicious of food to begin with. (it is explained that Keiichi, when he was youn, got scared of a story, and feared that food could contain harmful things, like needles, etc. you can tell this childhood fear surged when he was delusional in Onikakushi)
that said, the rest is simply very well paced, and you see the growing hope around Rika.
The new tracks, again, works wonder, though they aren't from dai... not really that bright for the casual scenes, but the eerie and mysterious parts were definitely well executed.
Next week should confirm the huge ride, but i begin to blindly follow DEEN for this season ^__^

i think most people can guess that...if it all worked according to plan then there isnt any need for the next arc :heh:
Spoiler:
zomg but really rika is staring fate in the eyes and saying "no i will not fail this time!" (just she wait til fate brings out the large bat to smash upon her head again )
rena, k1 and even shion are remembering past events and as they talk rika sees hope ~ she even helps takano break into the shrine which caused MOE takano to show (zomg XD highlight for me has to be takano saying "niipa ~~~")
now lets see how deep this hell can fall O.O

this time it's once more a high paced episode, isn't it?? 7 subchapters by episode 2!! ^^"
rika's running through minagoroshi-hen at marathon speed~~ a lot of things were taken out though......
Spoiler for this episode/sound novel:
even though studio deen is moving so fast... it's amazing structured the second time around ☆ mi-chan was so cool when she was consoling rena~ and 'kuro rika' kicking the bikes was the best! that alone earned a 10/10 rating, ne? :3
still, it's a little disappointing that the meeting at irie's was transferred out. and hanyuu didn't get her apology sweets! i guess that the limited time is to blame? although miyo's sudden moe scene made up for it a thousand times over ★
Decent episode, though knowing what comes next kind of takes the edge off. :P

Spoiler:
34 as a moe character? Well, that was a first www
The question "what the heck was up with Shion hearing footsteps in the warehouse" is visually answered here.
+ points for capturing the pessimism of Hanyuu.
- points for "dumbing down" the mahjong scene and replacing it with dice. But then again, it is a good way to portray that scene with respect to the viewers who know nothing about mahjong.
+ points for showing that Oishi is a well-meaning person when he sets his duties as an officer aside
++points for Shion + Satoko love. Nee-nee moe!
The next episode shall be GOD to crush people.

I enjoyed it as well, but man is DEEN ever motoring here. I can't believe that they're already past chapter seven of the game. Ah well, at least it still was the most frightening ni-pah ever.

Any predictions how long Minagoroshi will be? I'm leaning towards 8 episodes.

Spoiler for episode 7:
I'm interested in the fact that Akasaka's wife was saved, even though Minagoroshi-hen techincally only started in June 1983, so changing something now couldn't have effected his wife's accident or lack thereof a few years back, right? (Yeay for toying with the time/space continuum.)
LOL And moe 34 is fun. *spontaneously combusts from cuteness overload* She reminded me so much of Winry from FMA for some reason, probably the going moe over the nerdiest things bit.
But I have a feeling the s***'s really bout to hit the fan. This chapter's called Minagoroshi for a reason. ;-)

Ep7...well another fast paced epsiode. With that said, the timing were generally well done. It's of course a shame to see some of the great parts being cut short/out, such as Rika's famous quote against the three delinquents or the comment about the Wall Street, but most of the essence is there.
It is too bad that the reunion scene with Akasaka being done so poorly tho. In the game, it was one of the most heart-warming scene. Akasaka is definitely a strong ally for Rika, and his return is one of the things that makes Rika thinks that she can actually break away from the repeating fate. It's not a big deal, but it would've been better if they sticked closer to the original, becuase of the upcoming epsiodes.

It has been created here, although the section will not be under the Higurashi thread as it is neither animated yet nor has any relation to Higurashi (so far...)
