Spoiler for ep11:

But Jade's asshole attitude is what makes him great.

Narona 2008-12-06 20:16

Jade's sister is pretty and classy! :heehee:

I don't understand japanese, so I will wait before commenting this episode XD

But it seems interesting!

xellos2099 2008-12-06 22:28

I love it how the episode end Peony show up with a evil smile while I consider him to be a very good and a wise king.

As for Guy
Spoiler for scene:

Luke is so much softer in this episode! ^.^ I liked him when he was a brat, but I like him even better now~ It's great to see that he is really working towards improvement. He's not even abusing Mieu anymore!

Kikuchi 2008-12-07 14:06

I really like this adaptation. As a huge fan of the original game, I couldn't be more pleased, in fact. The whole episode was as interesting as I thought it might be.

yolin.shana 2008-12-08 09:35

I love how they add extra stuff. It keeps players interested =3
They really went into details with Jade's story, including flashbacks etc
I loved Jade's conversation with Luke, too (I prefer it that way than to just have Nephry tell him everything)

Really?! I believe that he has gotten too soft... too submissive to his friends now...

Okay, he did make a grave mistake... And I appreciate him getting his act together and start doing the right thing... But I just feel that he shouldn't just strip away his old personality and treat it as though it never existed... That is what I am feeling from him...

Frankly speaking, I miss the old one. At least he is enthusiatic...

I'm just saying...

Scarlett_Rain55 2008-12-08 23:03

So this is just a Jade Backstory episode?

Yes, but remember how they all rejected him right after Akzeriuth. And then there's the fact he's a replica. He lost a lot of self-confidence there.

as a gamer, i was surprise with the depth that they placed on jade's story...even that little tidbit with peony punching him...this is probably gonna be the best adaptation for a tales series so far.

Indeed, and like i've seen so many times --- he is such a Takehito Koyasu character.

Spoiler for 11:

Narona 2008-12-09 16:44

Just watched the sub, and I loved this episode :D

So Dist, Jade, Nephry and Peony were friends XD No romance between Nephry and Peony ?_? :heehee: *silly question*

Jade's past was quite interesting. It surely helps to understand the character XD. And now we know why he is called "jade the Necromancer" XD

Luke's personality is going better and better in each episode. Mieu would agree :heehee: .

And again, Nephry is classy and pretty :)

10/10 :D

Deathkillz 2008-12-09 16:57

Some thoughts for ep 11 :)

It wasn't as exciting of an episode I hoped it would have been but I am really looking forward to the fight next week ^^

I'm not too surprised how he is right now. I mean after the disaster at Azkeriuth probably doesn't think he has the right to be as aggressive as he used to be. Toss in the replica information and now having an identity crisis it'll likely be some time before he is confident again.

Because of finding out he isn't the original the source of his old personality is missing. He could act that way before because he felt certain of who he was and where he came from. Besides right now he is trying to regain people's trust and acting like you have a big head is hardly the way to accomplish that. Besides wasn't big on the old Luke anyways so him being gone isn't hurting me much :heh:.

Anyways good to see some back story to Jade. Just shows being a genius can cause you a lot of sorrow. Not to mention with Luke popping up he's gotten to see his past come back to haunt him.

That's correct but he does not need to go so low... Not being mature or should I say lack of worldly experience... How's that sound?

But that is going to change... according to FlareKnight... Well, this is why his is so true. 'No pain... (as in losing self-confidence) no gain...'

Well, that's how he exactly is right now. He does lack maturity, and definitely does lack worldly experience at the same time.

Others have mentioned his perception of himself as a replica, but even more than that, he also has to cope with the idea of his original's existence. Not only is he a copy, but he's not supposed to be there at all. They all left him, save for one... and it wasn't even totally out of genuine sympathy. (Or maybe, it's just hard to tell?)

Couple that with the prevalence of the Score in the lives of the people, and you can see how this could possibly affect him.

Finally we got some backround on Jade and i knew his past was going to be....I guess the word would be jaded but WOW what a wealth of information we received about his past and his past with Dist. Jesus Dist was a whiny little pansy when his little i see not much has changed but at least his brilliant. I had no idea that Dist was the one that modified Anise puppet to make it bigger thats actually pretty damn cool. But we learned how Jade earned the name Necromancer. But apparently all the experiments failed. This makes Luke and Jade linked on a whole new level. Also, the guilt over causing the death of the sensei. This was the first time we saw saw some real emotion behind Jade and not just his normal sarcastic humor.

Luke for the first time in a long time was very tolerable and despite Anise teasing him he kept his cool. In response Ion spoke up on his behalf, which was not surprising. Ion seems to be very attune to others feelings and their core personality. We all know that Luke was/is not a bad person he just didnt have much experience dealing with others or life in general. I predict that Luke will become a valuable asset as time goes on and learn more about not only his feelings but what it means to truly care and be sympathetic towards others.

Excellent episode 9/10
