Lightning Returns :Final Fantasy XIII is looking cool

FFXIII was strictly average for a Final Fantasy, FFXIII-2 was a bit better but imo it still lacked that hook that keeps you playing...here's hoping this one will be even better.

Just heard about this as well. I brought both of Final Fantasy 13 and 13-2, not the best Final Fantasy series, but probably the best looking one. I heard this game is all played through Lightning only, no party this time. The fighting or battling system is similar to Kingdom Heart is what I heard from a gamer analysis.

Isn't it kind of funny how your party member limit has gone from 3 to 2 to 1?

probably the best comparison would be to Crisis Core : Final fantasy VII where you controlled just Zack for most of the game

Final Fantasy XIII is good but the linearity makes me furious.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 is okay.

I'm gonna look forward for this game as a lightning fan.Although after this game,please square!
Focus on Versus XIII and Kingdom hearts III.

Looks like they actually have towns you can visit this time, (I didn't get to play XIII-2 yet so I don't know if that one had it) but yay anyway for XIII-3.

I hope this one is memorable for the ages. The gameplay for this game is more action pace from what I heard similar to Kingdom Hearts and Ninja Gaiden. Also, the setting is set hundreds of years after XIII-2.

I ask... why? is FFXIII Verus their side project or some stuff?

Sweet, I hated playing Serah and Noel. I don't like ff13 and ff13-2 all that much but I love Lightning as a character.

They are both side projects.

I'm glad someone ended up making a thread. :heh: Really shows how far Square has fallen that this announcement ended up drawing so little attention.

I would care if not for the 13 day time limit in a wide open game. I can't play a FF game that place that kind of restriction; what happened to the FF game that put an in game clock in the file so you know how many weeks you have played?

I don't think they have fallen yet, hopefully this project is a success. If not, back to the drawing board or just remake Final Fantasy 7 with better graphics then I am sure they will get back. Final Fantasy is known for many things in the gaming industry especially being a franchise that goes over budget so many times.

To be honest, i don't want a FFVII remake.It should just remain as it should.A legend of RPGs. Square should just focus on new titles such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII and their other future titles rather than nostalgia.They should just move on rather to please the fanboys.

Hard to get worked up when we don't have anything more than a few concept arts and none of them being character/plot related based on appearances. Personally, I love Lightning. Her, Yuna and Faris are my favorite Final Fantasy characters. While I can understand people that didn't like 13 getting upset, I also remember the days when 12 was considered the worst game ever... and before that it was X-2... then X.... then IX...... VIII.....
