that he's not human, and most likely created by Miharu's inner power. That would make him either an outright artificial spirit, or an existing bird given a human body.

Any opinions about Yoite? His time is almost up.

He is a test subject of a experiment to achieve immortality. Only he and Shiratama survived, and both of them has lived hundred of years. He and Shiratam's actual goal is to find a way to die.

All signs in the manga point to his eventual death though. Was it clearly stated in the manga that this is what fuels Miharu's drive to save Yoite? And I have no clue why Raikou said they were more than friends only to turn around and say Miharu was just more concerned for Yoite than anyone else.

Did you read the Japanese or Chinese version? I've been reading the Japanese ones but I'm still struggling with a lot of parts.

Miharu couldn't brought himself to do so. He fears that if he say anything more, Yoite's heart is going to break. Plus the fact that Miharu is pretty suicidal too, thinking none of this happen if he didn't exist at all. This is why he agreed to erase Yoite from existence early on, as Miharu realize they have similar desires. But Miharu's heart starts to sway from his original intent to disappear as he relates more to Yoite. This is especially so when Yoite had that "shinitakunai", Miharu is really heartbroken by Yoite's response, he literally lost his idea on what to do now. This why I see if Yoite is going to meet with further danger, it is very possible Miharu would finally change his mind and try to save Yoite at all cost. Miharu is clearly coming to a realization that he wants to stay with Yoite, and he just needs a push from the outside to get him into action.

The manga does point to that and it's clear Yoite is somehow a catalyst/push/trigger that is essential to Miharu's inner conflict with the Shinrabanshou, but I was trying to find what *precisely* was it about Yoite that made Miharu change his stance on dissppearing, and why Yoite decides he didn't want to die after all. (I think this is shown in volume 8 which I haven't touched yet so on that part, it's up to you to fill in the gaps for me. :heh: )

First, that shinitakunai scene is a huge impact. If you find a copy of volume 8, you can really tell from the zurui scene in the hospital. Also, technically Yoite never wanted to die, nor he wanted to live, he simply want to disappear, rewriting the history as if he was never born. But well, going back to that shinitakunai, it makes Miharu doubt whether that is really the best for Yoite. That really makes Miharu feel that there is a possibility that Yoite might want to live.

I must have misread something, because I thought it was Yoite that wanted to disappear and there was a scene where he threatened Miharu if he didn't make it happen.

In the translation of Volume 7 on Nabari Comm Miharu has a soliloquy where Miharu refers to Yoite as "Another me" and says he can't saw how he wants to "Know his heart". His friend is dying however, so it is more fun to read into the scenes in the newest chapters. (can't wait to see those translated)

I am hoping for a bittersweet ending-I can't imagine a future without both Yoite and Miharu present, that would just be toooo depressing. In my experiences most Shonen do not have depressing endings. I am hoping this will follow "Tactics" example and not be too sad, myself.

I am seeing this as whether Yoite... I should say Sora by now, can be saved or not is depending whether Yukimi can deliver the news quick enough. Yukimi already found Sora's brother and is learning about Sora's past. If Yukimi can get to them in time, the secrets behind Sora's past might just be the last push Miharu need to become determined in saving Sora.

He might have saved him already if that annoying Thobari-sensei hadn't stopped him.(or at least that is what it looked like)
