He IS repeating character designs, no fuck was given in making the main characters radically different from Fairy Tail.

Looks like the the third Gray/Musica fused with Natsu and formed the MC. While I like this new world building, Mashima sure loves exploiting every single approach to sexy woman

I would challenge someone to take a shot everytime friends or friendship was mentioned during this chapter, but I fear that I would held liable for said person's health.

Kurumada does the same in ALL his mangas. I think I can forgive that, the plot, we'll see.

i also hate that hiprocresy, others mangakas can use the "same characters style" but mashima is a unforgivible sin, it's really crap that things.

First chapter was alright. Although It was kind of amazed that he literally dropped Happy into this for....some reason.

The character designs really are a bit too similar, but that's alright. After a while these characters will settle in as their own individuals. Plus hey they don't look bad.

Not a bad twist having the story be more sci-fi and Lucy...I mean Rebecca flies a space ship around. That isn't bad really. Does change things up a bit. Also kind of liked the whole robots faking being bad so Shiki would leave before they ran out of power angle. It was kind of nice.

Personally, I am totally okay with that, especially if a writer is able to make a female character not only sexy but also legitimately awesome... Just please, not another Erza, that bullshit got tired after a while.

How do you know that others people didn't shat at the mangaka that reuse the character design?

I have seen plenty of those comments too in other works at other forum in the past.

Actually FT already went crap after that skypea copy paste arc.
