Try Hobby Link Japan.

I find them comparitively cheaper than GundamShop and they have a much, much, much larger selection.

Beside Hobby LInk Japan (including the shipping fee, the order is so expensive), do you have other online stores (North America)?

I get most of my models from PlaJapan.com, which is based in California. :)

Evan 2004-11-26 19:40

Those models are great! wondeful indeed~

I really wanna get my hands on that PG strike!~

Triple zZz 2004-11-29 22:39

Places/Sites selling model kit/plamo..?

Anyone knows good sites where sell import gundam modelkit/plamo..??

or any places on the west coast (seattle, vancouver, etc.)..??

srb 2004-11-29 22:46

I live in Europe, but one of the recommendations I got was www.plajapan.com situated in California. I haven't ordered from there yet but their prices seem to be ok.

Gundam Model Discussion Thread

Well, since this one seemed to be a popular one, I figured I'd give it a restart.

Anyone seen the new pics and the video of the Zeta 2.0 Gunota mentioned recently? I really can't wait for it to come out, sine that should make the MG Zeta 1.0 availible in much greater quantity, and I'll be able to display the 2.0 in Gundam mode, with the 1.0 glued into Waverider mode.

Oh, and does anyone know how that plated Akatsuki is going to avoid the obvious marring of the pieces where tey are cut? I was looking at Dalong's build of the Extra Finish Freedom and Impulse and you could see where they were cut. I have heard that the Hyaku Shiki kits are attached on the seam of the piece so that you cut the tree, then a flat cut along the seam. Any truth to that? Because if so, I hope they do that to the Akatsuki.

Gundam model kits discussion

Well, I searched and searched, to no avail of the old thread, so I'd like to bring it back up and start with something funny.

I recently bought an HG 1/144 Aegis gundam, and me, not liking its color scheme, grabbed my spray paint and without hesitation brought it to it's new colors:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...2081_small.jpg
Say hello to Phase Down Aegis!:heh: :uhoh: Note:Picture is dial up friendly

And since I have a HG 1/144 Aile Strike, I can do them "Asraaaan!!!" "Kiraaaaa!!" scenes all over again lol :heh:...

later I want to talk about the 1/100 Strike Freedom [I got the first production version]. It isn't so bad, I mean I'm liking it. For one thing, I used my hobby color Gold paint on the joints :heh:

mangatron 2005-12-18 16:30

rofl you started one minute before me, I think mr paper should merge them.

About the v2 Zeta gundam, hmm, I'm wodering if I should get it [I have the v2 MKII]

DarkWarrior 2005-12-18 16:33

The Akatsuki will probably be like the Hyaku Shiki. The trees will be attached BELOW the gold plating, so it won't show where the pieces will be cut off.

And I have my Zeta 2.0 preordered. Shipping will take awhile though since it's coming from Japan.

Mr_Paper 2005-12-18 19:52

Okay, I have the first part of the old Model Discussion thread found, and good to go! I have a 140kb RTF file with the first segment of the thread and I need a place to put it, any ideas? I need a place where it's not likely to be removed after a month or two. >.>

mangatron 2005-12-18 20:10

I know, make it the first post of this thread, that way this new thread will follow up on that.

Mr_Paper 2005-12-18 20:17

Actually, I was meaning someplace to upload the file. At 60 pages long, representing only 1/6th the total posts, posting the contents of the one file would require at least 20 individual posts. -.-;

Kollunz 2005-12-19 01:32

does anyone know when the master grade Zeta v2 comes out?!?!?

i wanna get it along with the MKII v2.

dj898 2005-12-19 03:21

any idea what'll be the best way to put the tracks together without the glue being visible? I was going to use quick fix but decided against in case it's visible...

Syn13 2005-12-19 04:30

Is it true that Bandai will be releasing a HG Palace Athene soon? If they are releasing it, any info on the weaponry it'll come with?

Orath 2005-12-19 04:50

a real cool destiny

Why didnt fukada or okinawa let this guy do the destiny  ..
got the pic from 4chan.org anyone who know the modeler or the site please share it with us,, gotta check his other works,,:D
http://www.orath.com/gunpla/destiny-4c.jpg

srb 2005-12-19 06:05

That really is a kick-ass colour scheme. If you have to incorporate gold on a mobile suit like the SF, that's the way to do it. Also, Destiny should always have been white, not gray :/.

I like the modifications though, except for the "toes".

That said, does anyone have the link to that Gundam X someone had kitbashed from the MG Freedom?

Orath 2005-12-19 06:13

ummm for the toe. i think that to give an Evil feeling.. fufufufu

for the DX i think its this one. not 100% sure tho

WarpObscura 2005-12-19 06:16

Does anyone happen to know if HG 1/144 SF and IJ are backward-compatible with the 1/44 METEOR for HG 1/144 Freedom and Justice?

Orath 2005-12-19 06:28

yup they are.. in fact some shops have bundled meteor with SF as a set with a bargain price (or a discounted price as a result of bad sales should i say?! :heh: fukadas hiding)

WarpObscura 2005-12-19 06:36

^Oh, okay, thanks for the info...

Actually, it's only the GX, but it is still an amazing model. They should make an MG GX just like that....

Speaking of the GX and friends, where can I get good pictures of the 1/100 GX and other Gundam X models? Painted or unpainted is fine.

blitz1/2 2005-12-19 19:06

I got several master grades, but I don't have a camera to take them with.

Nesty 2005-12-19 19:25

anyone know if bandai will ever make an 1/100 akatsuki?

dj898 2005-12-19 19:51

I finally received some of my old models - I was at my old man's place during the holiday and went through my old stuff mom out away all those years ago... I hit the jackpot with one box marked "DO NOT TOUCH". Inside I found some of my PG, MG kits that I built or almost finished... I post them to my place before leaving and missus told me just now they arrived this morning.

Can't wait till I get back home tonight and put together and done with them!!! :D

expect lots of photos of 'em...

WarpObscura 2005-12-19 20:56

I know there's a HG 1/144 "Mobile" GINN and a HG 1/144 "Mobile" CGUE, but is there a HG 1/144 GuAIZ, or is there only the MSiA?

Orath 2005-12-19 21:50

i think only MSiA.. really what is bandai thinking of. releasing and rereleasing zakus all over the place while the GuAIZ still in the blackhole .. damn its more original than the zakus.. and might add look cooler :rolleye:

Fafnir 2005-12-19 23:00

It would like to see an HG(or even 1/100) of the LaGowe. Also a 1/100 of the CGUE D.E.E.P arms would be nice.

Some MS aren't getting any attention.... Also, there is a 1/144 NG of the GuAIZ. But NG sucks.

Orath 2005-12-19 23:36

oh never knew that dalong.net only lists HG.. thought NG too .. guess maybe cause NG sucks so bad,. but alas i still think they are great for those 1/144 fixed posed dioramas

the web page is in Korean but you can find more picture of tis PG kit - "real hard" type...?

Nesty 2005-12-20 01:49

hey azizol, u tired ur best in the small timeframe that u had, i saw ur progress pics in hobbyfan and i'm very impressed with what u did. yes it isn't like the akatsuki but the effort in trying was incredible.

would u happen to have some pics of it in the "hanger"?

hey dj, OMFG that's one sick strike o_O talk about needing repairs haha, it would have been nice to see a half blown up shield ;)

and uhh.....hanger?
I didnt do any diorama......wat u mean hanger?

dj898 2005-12-20 02:17

alright...
I dug up from my old PG kits when I visited my old man's house. :D I still need to fix/touch up the shield/guns before put on them...

they have very heavy shading... these were built at the time when I was experimenting shdaing not knowing MAX style painting... think I went bit overboard but I saw other kits done in similar fashion even nowadays so I guess it's alright after all...

Mk-II ver 2.0 is by the way quick assembly not so long ago after I got hold of the kit someone attempted to build but due to lack of time passed on to me... I've yet to build the launching pad as I ran out of time before got back to work after few weeks of annual leave...
