Then, are they not releasing enough Unicorn (and other UC) kits or is the whole market just not doing well, going by the drop in 2011-2012?

I'm also curious to know the market share of UC kits.

both yes and no, there was a article with that diagram that confirmed that the majority of gunpla sales on that diagram is UC kits, and that AGE kits arent selling well at all, i wish i bookmarked it now so i could link it. but whatever, the picture should give nike a overall clear idea that AGE kits arent selling too well to warrant AGE MG's all the time ;)

Edit: Article was interviews with 7-10ish store owners that complained about their AGE stocks not selling

Age might not be the best gundam series ever, it had some great ideas, the problem is they stay way to close to the origional gundam story which is getting old and boring. I love the gunpla kits, the quality is superb!

The AGE RD figures aren't fantastic designwise with the stretched torsos, but HLJ has them on sale so i bought all 4. It isn't the first RD that doesn't sell well, the Ahead (all version) from 00 gundam were also very bad sellers, even if they are quite good figures (that miss some features, but that's an RD line problem)

And yes there is a economic crisis in the world so sales are bound to be falling a bit.

I still intend to get the MG AGE-1 normal.

Honestly, i don't know if they arent releasing enough kits or if the entire market is doing bad, but the usual boom comes when you announce a new series & release new kits(as you can see in the diagram), then it usually takes a dive until more kits are made, i hope someone releases a new diagram for the full year of 2012 so we can see if the sales went up or if they keep falling.

I'll see if i can dig the article up for you monster.

imo, AGE is horrible, but i still like it, it has some good parts but honestly it wasnt really a good show, it had a really good OST and a few likeable characters, but i wouldnt recommend it to someone, i plan on getting a AGE-2 (Normal) MG (And AGE-3 Orbital, if we get one) once i finish my backlist, the show has some amazing designs, too bad the storytelling wasnt as good as the mecha designs :/

So then similarly, why can't Bandai package everything in the MG Age-1 Flat?

--> gransa armor
--> zefuld launcher
--> glastron launcher

Oh, sure they can. The question is whether or not they will do it, and that’s the big question that nobody here can answer exactly. Before Bandai announce anything, we can only speculate.

Imo it’s simply because the HG 1/144 & 1/100 don’t replicate SF’s head well. The HG 1/60 got it good, then it was perfected by the MG & PG ;).

I honestly agree about the AGE MG kits from a personal perspective, the only MG from it so far which I would consider getting is the AGE-2 DHm simply due to the fact that the design is great, and the overall rule that pirate gundams are win

As for the HG's Bandai can go all out since they're relatively easy to make, and they are quite cheap compared to some of the more expensive (and nicer, I love my HGUC Sazabi lol) HGUC kits

Master Grade Aegis Review

Looks like you need to at least paint up the clear pieces for the forehead camera in clear blue or metallic blue.

Painting it would be nice. Still, I think I'll be fine with the metallic stickers. I'm good at applying them, especially on the visor/camera ;).

duotiga 2012-10-13 22:53

Painting of clear pieces is nothing new....in fact it looks better if you paint it

derrickmc63 2012-10-13 23:04

i like the fact that bandai doesn't color their clear parts. that way, if i wanted a clear piece to be a different color i can just paint it the color i want.

It will be amazing to see how Zeta's transforming frame gets reused in the future for other Transforming units like Wing.

Incase, they'll need to minimize the frame first for Wing, with its height reach up only to around Zeta's chest. Plus it would probably be an entirely new frame given the different transformation.

Obelisk ze Tormentor 2012-10-13 23:44

I’m actually surprised with this articulation:

Given the design, I never thought it could pull it off. Now, I don’t have any complain for Aegis’ articulation. It’s superb!

Wing’s articulation is not really that intricate though. It’s basically only rotating its head & hips, adjusting the shoulders & legs a bit, storing the hands/manipulator inside the arms, and cover the head with the shield. It’s pretty simple that the HG can already do it. So, the RG being transformable is a given imo. But yeah, RG Wing would be nice ;).

duotiga 2012-10-13 23:46

I wonder how are they gonna pull off RG Force impulse or RG ZZ though...

Docking-system is the next level of difficulty for RGs if Bandai really don't want to resort to part-swapping. While the docking in Impulse is pretty simple, the ones on ZZ & Victory is hella complex.

Indeed, i just find it funny :)

@MG Aegis

Oh god, i'd post a picture that explains what im feeling but i cant, it doesnt exist, god Aegis is looks good.

bio9205 2012-10-14 06:27

I just hope the MG Aegis doesn't have loose parts falling out all over the place with each pose.

Well given what I have seen of the MG Victory.....shrinking it down is gonna be a disaster lol

Sworra 2012-10-14 15:59

MG Aegis has no backpack so i can see how the articulation is crazy when it comes to doing posing.. Its the sister mobile suit to the MG Age 1 Normal for articulation.

On another note I just started the MG Age 2 Normal.. Have to say the core is odd to build, different from the other MG's i've built.
