I really?! Oh that'd make my whole year! I want to see this movie so bad.

Any thoughts on how long it'd take to come out on DVD after the theatrical viewing?

Still seems to be a teaser trailer at the most. That is Mion speaking right?

I'm still a bit worried about this movie. Perhaps if I just think of it as a completely different movie...it should be fine.

If it's not a problem, would someone happen to give a quick translation of what the trailer says? Or atleast what that "1%" thing says (it's driving me crazy).

If the movie is loosely adapted from the general concept of the series, it will have potential to be very good and entertaining.

If the movie is a direct port of Onikakushi-hen... it will fall flat on its face.

I took a look at the introduction page.

The characters all look funny without thier bright hair colours and K1 looks to much like the silent type.

It has been confirmed a while back that the live action movie will be based on Onikakushi-hen.

That's actually their best chance to actually have an impact, as Watanagashi-hen isn't exactly "beginner" friendly, Tatarigoroshi-hen is just too long, and Himatsubushi-hen wouldn't make sense at all.

There isn't much any way to do that in fact.

Rena - sucks
Tommy - looks like Hard Gay
Mion - WTF
Rika? - too old
Oishi - What happened to him being overweight?
Irie? - Those cloths are too big
Takano - Droopy-tan, what did they do to you?

Bottom line: This movie will suck more then the Negima Drama

What makes it not beginner friendly?

I'm actually kind of hopeful for the movie, actually. In my opinion, anything is better than the Higurashi porn. Most of the characters look good [Irie has himself a new fangirl] but hopefully, the storyline will still be pretty much entertaining as well as mysterious.

But you guys know what I'm really afraid of?
An American remake...

I'd actually be interested in a British take on it. The whole "cult" thing would work better in that setting (I'm kind of thinking of the Wicker Man here ... with less naked May Pole dancing). I think it would work if it was in good hands. Not that it would ever happen.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this movie. The trailer seems kind of cheap, but most Japanese live action projects do. :p I don't want the characters to look like their anime/game counterparts, that would be cheesy. I like seeing them more realistic. There's actually a cool fan art in the image thread of the gang with more realistic hair/clothes/proportions.

Maybe an adaptation loosely based on the time loop subject in five 20 minute segments with parts of the game and anime referenced in someway and have a really confusing ending...?
