Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon focuses on the events of the past, particularly those which occur during the Thirty Years' War (1618-1648 AD) and the Warring States Period of Japan (1467–1573 AD). However, we already know that the current progress of history recreation has been delayed; the Battle of Gravelines (1588) has been delayed 60 years, and Ieyasu Tokugawa has died 32 years too late.

Let's talk about how screwed up History Recreation is, and how the events in Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon tie up with the events in the past.

I have yet to recall some minor details about the first season, but I do remember about the tension between Innocentius and Tadatsugu Sakai during the imprisonment of Horizon @ Season 1.

Is that something to do with the Tsirchian Faith butting itself into the Far East? (see Persecution of Christians in Japan) Take note that the persecution of Christians started after 1542 and covered the rule of Tokugawas Ieyasu, Hidetada and Iemitsu.

can we say that Malga, Margot and other witches were being hunted by Innocentius?

IIRC I remember they said something about Musashi is their shelter from Tsirch in season 1

I remember reading somewhere (might've been one of the anime Q&A's at the tumbrl) that the event which Tadakatsu&co prevented during their student days was converting Far East to Christian (which I guess would've but them even more under the Pope's heel).


Afaik they hail from M.H.R.R where witches aren't really accepted.

^ Yep, but since they are pagans (more specifically non-Tsirhcians), the Technohexen were able to call Musashi home.

The problem with this plan of Innocentius' is that the Far East is never Tsirhcian to begin with.

Bumping this thread for reminding everyone that there's actually the Indian faction, which calls for the question about how they will role in this whole testament thing. During 16th century, it was the early period of the Mughal Empire, within which their greatest emperor, Akbar, reigned over it. I'd love to see them in at least a major event here, but frankly I'm pessismistic since India is both far from Far East and Europe in the real world and Indian history being not as widely popular as either....

About the Renactment..

Are they following a linear timeline here? if yes.. could we predict the next event then?What would be likely?

Or they just choose a particular event to settle things? If they are to lose based on the event they act upon, will they just accept the lost even if they have the chance to win?

^ It depends on the Testament, basically. But since they are running on a lot of delays, they are often forced to cut corners (i.e. do a recreation of four wars in one recreation event).

India (Houjou) looks set to play major role soon with Shin Takeda (Sanada) coming in

I'd presume it'll be more as Houjou then as India.

Let me ammend my statement : Personally I'd like to see more insight into Indian history by this series.

Too bad that in Horizon, both Ottomans and Persians are lumped together into one faction. Both were traditional rivals in real history not unlike France and Britain. Then again I'm not sure which Japanese daimyou most suitable to take up their coat...

Oh, and there should've been Korea, too. But Imjin War happened after Unification :p

what if this goes in accordeness to historical events is the apocolpyes something like midevil time where to bubonic plaque took place?

Well, there are epidemics of black death during that time, but I doubt that it will be covered by History Recreation.
