I do wonder what happened to that Super Soldier program Flit made, the one with training the new generation of X-rounder? Considering how massive the army is, finding and training a couple of X-rounders shouldn't be a problem, like the Magician's Eight (which sadly turned out to be fodder).

Wait that was his program? I thought it was just a Federation program to try and find those with x-rounder capabilities.

Asemu first love choice-> Arisa.

Gunfamx run away before anyone notice.

I Second the Motion(Shot to dead by Canon)

And yes, that Metal Gear Esque Super Soldier program, would have been interesting if some of them would have been in the Diva or similar... another good plot wasted...

I know who was Asem First love...

Spoiler for Gundam:

Gold coins. Goooold, you can't resist its shine... Middle Ages we miss you.

Oh Shanalua you traitor, hey look the baaad nameless vagan who bribe you just happen to be around to fight the Gundam, isn't that convenient? Why won't you just kill each other and get rid of all the loose ends that your survival would imply?

Zeheart you were once the big guy with the mask, now you are nothing more than Ezelcant's faceless bitch.

As usual, there's still that huge gap between AGE potential and its execution.

mechalord 2012-05-22 14:34

Zeheart's role may change when Asemu enters the fray. Right now, he's a mook unit leader.

Yeah, right now without Asemu there just isn't much to care about with Zeheart. Need that friend/rival dynamic to bring out the best in him since otherwise he's just a poor military leader :heh:. Well long as he can avoid getting blasted to hell by an angry Kio he'll have chances to stand out later.

Well, it's not actually THAT bad of an episode, just predictable.

1. Shanalua...well, death flags all over her last episode and of course, this episode, she goes boom (Okay, the Clanche didn't explode, so there's still a chance...)
2. Zeheart w/o Asemu = boring...when will the space pirate finally appear? B/c watching Kio just get into Gundam and start trashing everything is not as fun as Asemu getting pwn, time and time again, before he get his one and only big kill in Desil...
3. As for Gold Coins, come on, everyone knows that Gold worth a lot this day and age :p (Sorry, too many of those stupid gold advertisement...)
4. As far as the battle - it's 100% same as Jaburo, down to the part where Char Zeheart discovered a secret underground entrance. Now, we just need the 3 kids to defused the bomb...
5. And of course, being Jaburo, AGE-style, waiting for Zeheart's Wrozzo to trash an Adele using the claws...

I doubt it was solid gold. Or both the bag and the guy holding it are a lot stronger than they look.

Credit transfers would draw too much suspicion .... much better to pay in a GIANT BAG OF GOLD COINS instead. Surely nobody would suspect her of anything when going to cash that in for $1 million spacebucks... :)

Rising Dragon 2012-05-23 11:02

It's possible that those coins were antiques, money back in the colonization process's time, something that would be considered valuable collectibles. Sell those to the right place or person and Shanalua would have all the money she needed to pay for her sister's treatments.

I don't know, even in the real world, humans have learned the convenience of paper and electronic currencies over coins long before we're able to colonize the outer space. But even if these are valuable antiques, the Vagans would probably be more successful at finding a buyer for the coins than Shanalua. I don't see how they would expect her to find a buyer for the coins instead of just giving her actual payments that she can use.

Gold coins actually would draw in a lot of attention mainly because you have to sell them to get some value out of them.

And jewelers would check to see if the coins are geniuine and wonder where they came from.

Anh_Minh 2012-05-23 13:10

They're chocolate coins. In the future, chocolate will be an expensive luxury, to be sold to wealthy addicts for a fortune.

Revolutionist 2012-05-23 14:32

TBH if you wanted to conceal the fact that you have a supplemental income, gold is the way to go. She could convert it into cash as she needed, as opposed to getting a large sum of money deposited into her bank account, which would raise all sorts of flags. Gold is also untraceable, cash is not. Sure the coins may be traceable, but you melt them and then all you have is a pile of molten gold, good luck tracing that, and it is still worth the same as when it was in coin form because gold doesn't need to be in a coin format to be valuable.

what baffles me is how the federation doesn't have a decent health plan for dependents of military personnel. This all could have been avoided if her sister got some coverage.

Even if that were true, that still means more work for her since they didn't even give her gold, but golden coins, not to mention she still has to sell the gold itself.

Anh_Minh 2012-05-23 16:13

And she still has to explain where the gold comes from.

"We have a spy, we know her name, but let's do nothing about it"

"Oh, there she goes in precious mobile suit that cost millions"

The worst part of this being AGE putting stunts even more stupid than that. It's gundam for kids, what can we do? Super pilot, super pilot...

But we also learn that paper money (which has no actual value but only represents an agreed upon value by the government which prints it, which then is traded on the market solely on the belief that the government sanctioning that paper money isn't about to go bust or collapse) is the first to lose its meaning when war comes. This is because when war hits the first to go is the banking system due to a number of factors like social panic which causes money and currency exchange to fluctuate in unpredictable ways, and when that happens cash and "money in the bank" in the form of credits literally means jack all (not to mention banks don't actually hold that much cash, we've had incidents like these many times when the public panics and wants to draw their "savings" the banks runs out of cash to give out). And this is when rare minerals rules (and even then probably not even as much as necessities like food and water).

Gold coins is actually easier to trade and sell because they have known purity. Nobody would want unprocessed gold.

No more than she has to explain unknown amounts of cash with serial numbers, at least gold coins don't have them.
