One Outs

I Didn't See any Thread About it And It Aired Today :meh:

-------------------------------------------------------

Story
Quote:

The story begins when Hiromichi Kojima, the star batter of the fictional Lycaons in Japan's Pacific League, heads to the southern Japanese island of Okinawa to train and bring himself out of a slump. There, he meet Tōa Tokuchi, a 134-kmph (83 miles per hour) pitcher and the undisputed king of a gambling form of baseball called "One Out." At Kojima's urging, Tokuchi signs up with the Lycaons under an unusual contract: he gets 5,000,000 yen (about US$46,000) for every out he pitches, but loses 50,000,000 yen (US$460,000) for every point he gives up.

same makers of kaiji!!! should be entertaining

Meirin 2008-10-10 06:28

The original manga of this anime adaptation is by Shinobu Kaitani, who also created Liar Game, which I'm reading right now. Liar Game was adapted into a live action series in Spring 2007.

The team from Akagi and Kaiji is onboard so I'm expecting interesting character designs and an awesome OST!

Just curious, is anyone planning on subbing this? It'd be a pity for this to go unsubbed.

Gameboiye 2008-10-13 21:58

I too am hoping this will get subbed. I promiss Pie and Cookies for all!!

acid_finger 2008-10-19 10:33

I loved the first 2 episodes.
My knowledge of Japanese is very small, so i too hope some fansub to pick it up.

Eric10301 2008-10-20 01:08

I sure hope someone picks this up. There is a lot of over subbing this fall season *cough* Tales of the Abyss *cough* among others, while this show goes unsubbed.

Acseru 2008-10-22 12:53

Yeah, I agree. Some group should start subbing this. Piece of art like this and no subbers? What a pity.

Figucher 2008-10-23 02:08

Hopefully someone starts subbing this series, gambling anime is always relevant to my interests!

Chrno2 2008-10-23 18:15

Tomodachi wants to sub this anime, but need a translator for it to do so. :(

Liar's game is a great manga... but why would anyone accept a deal that horrible.
I know 83mph fast ball is nothing to sneeze at but still. Thats over more than 3 innings of outs he has to get without a run. A low scoring game will net you some nice cash, but a high scoring game will ruin you.

Lucipher 2008-10-24 01:21

some subgroup called B2E picked this up already and released ep 1 so can we get this in the subsection now lol

The Chaos 2008-10-24 04:35

And Madhouse is getting damn good at it too. Some people criticize their gambling shows, but I for one think they're masters at it.

Wavie 2008-10-24 17:52

Huh? The timing in the subs was just fine didn't notice any off timing subtitles.

Anyways the first episode was pretty good. Will keep following this series. Oh and the OP gave me a bunch of inner feelings I've never felt before. :heh:
