Action/Romance Anime Suggestions?

I'm looking for an anime where romance is developed throughout the story, I'd prefer if the anime also had action of some sort (This being magic, swords, mechs, etc.)

Personally I'd like an anime similiar to The Familiar of Zero, or Eureka 7, or atleast something which has the same kind of romance, action feel.

Furthermore I'd like the anime to have good modern animation/drawing unlike Escaflowne which was annoying to watch.

Some Animes I've seen:

The Familiar of Zero
Elemental Gelade
Full Metal Panic
Busou Renkin
Eureka 7
Fate/stay Night
Kaze no Stigma
Rosario + Vampire
Soul Link
Vision of Escaflowne
Inuyasha
Tower of Druga
Code Geass
Shakugan no Shana
Lunar Legend Tsukihime
RahXephon
KIBA
Gundam SEED Destiny
Vandred
Dragonaut: The Resonance
Tokyo Underground
Karin

:)

This is probably the most frequently asked for genre in the Suggestions section. Try using the search button, and only if nothing meets your criteria, then create a thread.

However, I've taken the liberty of doing some of this for you;

http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...action+romance
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...action+romance
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...action+romance
http://forums.animesuki.com/showthre...action+romance (this is manga, but some great series nontheless)

If you still can't find something to your liking, you can try some of these; (however I may be re-suggesting series in some of the above thread)

Macross Frontier
Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Girls currently airing
Star Driver: Kagayaki no Takuto currently airing
Toaru Majutsu no Index second season currently airing

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have looked through the suggestion forum, and I have searched up many many times for this specific type of Anime, but I can never find something that's good or catches my eye, half of the things people suggest and plain romance animes, or plain action anime, when I'm looking for a action/romance anime. Sure in these said action animes there may be slight romance detected but I'm looking for something with closure of sorts, where a couple is actually established, not something where sure you know that he likes her, or she likes him, but nothing comes out of it. Thats not what I'm looking for.

Perfect examples of what I am looking for is Eureka 7, Familiar of Zero, Busou Renkin, etc.
Thanks anyway for your help to the topics but their not what I'm looking for, I don't want plain romance, or plain action. Picky I know, but i want both . :s

If that's the case, then Valkyria Chronicles looks to be your best bet. I really don't know why I didn't suggest it in my original post.

Try Allison to Lilia

Haak 2010-10-22 02:28

I would have to recommend Kara no Kyoukai.

Wild Act
Fushigi Yuugi
Ayashi no Ceres
Sailor Moon
Black Bird
Land of the Blindfolded
Mars
Fushigi Yugi
The Devil Does Exist
Ceres Celestial Legend
Happy Hustle High
Romeo x Juliet

Lost of kissing, sex, dating, romance, marriage, action, love.

The manga of Fushigi Yugi and Ceres Celestial Legend are much better than the anime.

Thank you for the suggestion of Allison to Lilia, I'll be sure to check it out! I'll gladly accept more suggestions of these types of anime. :)

Edit:: I checked it out but sadly it's not what I'm looking for I need something that has action and fighting, along with a romance aspect much like Eureka 7, and Familiar of Zero.

I prefer if the fighting is done with magic, supernatural powers, weapons, or even mechs. And preferably no magic girl stuff unless its like Familiar of Zero. :s

iPromise 2010-10-23 16:48

Any other suggestions?

DragoZERO 2010-10-23 17:57

Allison to Lillia has action though. Airplanes, guns, chases...but it is real world stuff.

Then I would say go with Macross. If you are new to it, start with the first series and work your way up.

Shiroth 2010-10-23 18:20

Shall second Macross if you're interested. There's a good romance that's developed pretty much from the start, and plays a part in the overall plot. Plus it's a mecha series, so it'll fill the action side of what you're looking for.

Start with Super Dimensional Fortress Macross. You'll be hooked in know time. :)

iPromise 2010-10-23 20:02

Macross sounds good and all, but I find those "oldish" animes hard to watch,

DragoZERO 2010-10-23 20:49

Only the first series is "oldish" and you'll get used to the animation. The music and all is top notch, even now. But it's definitely what you are looking for so try it at least. It's actually a pretty decent dub too.

Bounen no Xamdou
Birdy the Mighty Decode

Both have high quality action scenes. Xamdou has quite a few romance subplots, kind of like how Eureka 7 had a lot of romantic plot lines with the support characters. Birdy is the opposite, there's only 2 romance lines that gets explored 1 for each main character.

Out of curiosity, how did you like Dragonauts?

Honestly I thought Dragonaut was great, I really liked the romance between Toa and Jin, although the action was ok, it could have been better in that aspect

Any others?

iPromise 2010-10-25 15:48

Any others...?

DragoZERO 2010-10-26 07:52

You finished all of the suggestions we gave you already? That was pretty quick.

JRendell 2010-10-26 08:09

:heh: The whole Macross franchise in two days. Now that's a feat.
