Spoiler for HSI 05 - With Eyes of Seeing and Words of Speaking:
|
Yay, the Grey Heron returns...with a vengeance.
Overall, very standard episode with no real surprises (in fact, the ending was known within the first 4 or so minutes). But, solid character development for Minko and Ohana elevates this to an above-average episode p.s. Yuina = Great. |
Congratulations to Ohana for clearing all misunderstandings with Minko.
Slight revelation on Minko's past and the change in her relationship with Ohana made this episode for me so.....8/10 I guess. Also, that Grey Heron is awesome. |

And that bird is quickly becoming my favourite character. |
well done jiroumaru... you have created another chaos....
lol a lot in this episode.... The depressed minko and her past, cheerful and loud ohana, and weird bird.... XD congratulations for Ohana for reconciling with Minko... (and Tohru maybe) I will give 10/10 for this..... (maybe not too perfect but this episode is wonderful) |
After all, Tohru's job offer story was a big troll since Madoka Magica.:eyebrow:
I'm pretty sure now that Ohana loves Tohru in the end; but it is possible on a certain conditions. Ohana and Minko must make great friends by the day when it happens. Otherwise, it's just a slaughterhouse. btw I remembered Nanami (Revolutionary Girl Utena) when I saw Yuina on the massage chair. :p |
I expected something more but it was an enjoyable episode nonetheless.
I really like Yuina. The massage chair talk, the accent, Haruka Tomatsu's just awesome. |
And the damn bird makes its appearance again. At this rate, it's gonna join the regular cast and I won't mind one bit. :heh:
Seriously, I'll be freaked out if a bird comes at me like that. Nice development for Minko and her relation with Ohachi overall. Looks like another bothersome customer next week. (Actually, I had a thought that there'll be plenty of customer arcs to liven things up before the start of this series. Looks like there'll be at least one of them.) |
Haha it was all just a big misunderstanding, unfortunately for Ohana she had to embarrass herself to find out. Grey Heron returns!
So Tohru was the reason Minko was able to work at th inn. Nice to see a bit of her past. At least she's fine with Ohana now because she told her to call her Minchi. Like the idea of telling Ohana to think of her nickname. Yuina was great again. So Ohana finally found out what to write to Ko. |
I have a bad premonition of a love triangle forming where Minko likes Tohru but Tohru likes Ohana instead. That last scene between Ohana and Tohru seems to imply that Tohru believes Ohana cares for him more strongly than the rest of the staff at Kissuiso.
Also, I wonder if Ko was looking at tourist magazines of the town Ohana is in. |
Thank goodness it's over. Minko sucks the life out of every episode she's in, dragging Ohana along with her: Here's how to do an unappealing tsundere!
At least Yuina managed to salvage the episode somewhat ^_^ |
Haha, yeah, yeah, it was all just a misunderstanding and Yuina was riding the motorcycle just because she wanted to. Haha.
Good development though, for some characters. Amusing that Ohana is supposedly supporting Minch x Tooru, but she is setting flags with the guy herself. And it seems Kou-chan is planning to visit her too, so I can see a nice battle coming on. However, I've learned not to expect too much from this show, so I won't bring my hopes up. Still, damn, that protagonist...! Ueeeehhhhhh!! Frivolous? Light? Crazy? I don't know the word, but damn, she's annoying. Her mouth is an container with holes on every side, unable to hold anything back, she doesn't think before she speaks, and with her storming the other inn and bothering the entire place, she probably doesn't think before she acts too. D-A-M-N! Call the police! In the meantime, Jimarou or whatever is as amusing as ever... When you look at him as Yamakan. Hilarious, really. Not that that is what I am looking for. Come to think of it, Minch's voice actor is Kotegawa... As always, her vo-... |
^ Kotegawa? I think you mean Omigawa Chiaki. xD;;
Ha! So I´m not the only one who thinks OhanaxTooru is possible? Thank goodness, I thought I was going crazy being the only one who thought so. D: |
So when Jiromaru says something in the future we know it's certainly... :heh:
It was nice to hear Yuina speak lines without fake accents... |
As much as I love the episode, I have to say the show is getting a tad bit "generic" for lack of better terms. I originally started watching this show because the first two episodes were such a U turn from the typical slice of life shows that I don't usually watch, it reminded me of True Tears and the first half of Toradora. But now I'm slowly starting to feel like a hypocrite watching episode 4 and 5. Still though, good development and I'll give the show some more time.
|
Ehhhhh~ Hanairo isn't really working for me any more. I gave the first episode an 8.5, but episode 5 dropped to an all-time low of 7.
It's definitely not lacking in sincerity. All the main characters are believable, and they're pouring out heartfelt emotions for the viewers. Ohana is pretty much a walking inspiration speech. Minko gets angry at the smallest things. And Nako has yet to come out of her turtle shell. Problem? Not sure myself, really... I guess I'm finding all the characters to be very predictable. A problem is presented: Minko gets angry and Nako says nothing. Ohana deals with the problem while trying to be more friendly with Minko and bringing Nako's reserved personality to the forefront. Repeat. |

Just that whenever I see the kanji for her last name, I always read it as "Kotegawa" for some reason. Kind of like how I always read Yahagi's last name as "Yasaku"... :heh: |
As much as I loved this episode, I can't help but feel disappointed everything turned out to be a big misunderstanding. That was way too predictable. It would have been far more interesting if the one of the two big issues (Tohru leaving Kissuiso; and Tohru going out with Yuina) turned out to be true.
Ohana was as impulsive and reckless as ever, and that's exactly why I love her. I can't believe she simply stormed into Fukuya. The look on her face when she found she was totally mistaken was priceless. Awkward :heh: Minko grew on me a little bit thanks to this episode. I was a bit afraid she joined Kussuiso to be with Tohru, but it wasn't the case at all. She truly yearns to become a chef. I still don't like her all that much, though. She's a little too bitchy for my tastes. On the other hand, I can't wait to see more of Yuina. She's so much fun. |
A pretty good episode, though I kind expected Tohru wasn't really leaving by how things had been shown. Though Ohana trying to do something about it with good intention is better than doing nothing I suppose :heh:.
